Ibaka would be great. I am sure Morey could trade Asik, Parsons, Jones and picks to get him from the Thunder. It would be Harden 2.0. His post scoring is impeccable.

Parsons' contract is great, but after next year he will get paid. I am certain he will be overpaid considering his agent is Dan Fegan. Sure there will be the hometown, no SIT discount. But that only goes so far.

now he, the spaniard ibaka, would be the perfect fit. we've been done havin' one of the best offenses before harden and dwight with role players. But the defense from the power forward position that ibaka would bring:eek:

now coming back down to earth, presti is already a stubborn mofo would he deal with our gm once again?

So you solve the manageable 4 problem by creating a HUGE one at the 3???
who can you get at that position remotely close in production and salary?
There's absolutely no point in making such a deal. From all reports Jones & DMo are developing nicely and one of them is due for a breakout season, we should be relatively fine at the 4, DH masking some of everybody's defensive deficiencies.

Guys Asik is in HIGH demand, top 3 defensive center (DH/JNoah), 27 years old, good 2 years deal (look at what Petkovic is getting!). There shouldn't be so hard to flip him somewhere by himself or with one of Lin/DMo/Jones to net the decisive asset Portland is looking for, if we are that interested in LMA.

And by the way Parsons is our best wing defender too.

People seem to forget that Aldridge is a guy you can throw the ball to and let him go to work. Parsons occasionally does it and a rotation of Garcia / Casspi / Williams will do. Garcia is indeed our best defender and only need his three point shooting with Howard, Harden & LMA needing a lot of touches.

No, I would much rather keep Parsons and I feel the front office feels the same way. There is no telling where his ceiling will be at this point. I am not saying he will be an all star but considering he has improved his game, seemingly every time he steps on the court, I am intrigued about him being a super role player on this team. He will be able to take advantage of playing off of 2 stars perfectly and hopefully D up a little better this year to help our perimter D. Parsons will be a perfect fit for this team. The jury is still out on Aldridge.

If we are dealing Asik, Parsons, Jones + picks for Ibaka then hell yes he will deal with us again. Morey would never offer something so ridiculous. I would only offer Asik for Ibaka. I didn't realize Ibaka was so overrated around here.

Our biggest bargaining chip right now for LA would be to flip JLin for picks and package our picks, JLin picks, Omer, and some PF for LA.. BUT I would honestly (as I have said before) like to create a package to get CJ McCollum from them. I think he would do awesome for us.

EDIT: But before I would deal for McCollum, I want to see how well Cannan's game translates

lol, they don't want or need Lin and Beverly. Lillard is going to be an all-star in the league why would they need to take on crap contracts. If they were trading for Harden that's a different story since their SG pos and bench is their biggest issue.
Obviously the Rockets would never trade Harden, so the only feasible option is Asik/Lin/2picks for Aldridge and 2 crap bench players

So all they get back is point guards and picks and the only position they're currently strong at is point guard? Makes sense.

Parsons is the most capable wing defender we have. Perhaps it's due to more duties on offense and very heavy minutes, but a lot of his defensive tenacity as a rookie went away last year. But Parsons certainly has the capability to be a great defender.

This is how you make it happen:

    Indiana gets:
    Rondo

    Boston gets:
    Omer Asik
    1st rd pick Houston
    1st rd pick Indiana

    Portland gets:
    Danny Granger
    2016 pick Indiana or Houston

    Houston gets:
    LaMarcus Aldridge

No. I'll trade Asik straight up for a solid PF that may not be a star. Don't fill one hole by creating another. Either portland takes asik, jones/d-mo, and picks, or you just move asik straight up for a 4. Plus, Chandler was instrumental in getting Dwight. You don't move him after Dwight actually comes.

It doesn't look like a huge problem to me. Next year's MLE should bring an adequate 3&D starting small forward. If you had Howard, Aldridge and Harden, you wouldn't be drawing plays for the small forward to do anything but snipe from downtown anyway.

Seems like this will always be true if we are seeking a third star. Especially at PF.

Based on what? A couple of games in the post-season? When Parsons was also busting his arse on defense? Hey, I'm damned glad we got Garcia to resign, but I very much disagree with you.
