OK! I am a Yao's fan. If the majority of the rocket fan do not want him in this team, please trade him ASAP. I will be happy with it. He is nothing for the rocket anyway because he played badly, right?
Yao haters want Yao got traded. Yao-only fans want Yao got traded. Fans from other teams want Yao got traded. let's get over and trade him then.........
That wouldn't be far from the truth Some of Rockets fans in this board just don't understand how lucky they are to have a superbly talented BIG and SMALL at the same time IMHO These kind of threads are
Does anyone else think this trolling piece of **** should be banned? Btw, other remarks I've spotted him saying include things like Rox will suck w or w/o Yao and will always be lottery. But hey, I guess if guys like Yetti gets to hang around then everybody else could.
This has to be the hands down stupidest thread I've ever read on this BBS. Congratulations. I think my IQ may have dropped a few points from reading some of the asinine replies. Yao Ming has not completed his rookie season, is in the contest for 2003 Rookie of the Year, was voted an All-Star (showing his tremendous marketing value to help the Rockets make money), and may possibly be on the verge of helping the Rockets get to the playoffs for the first time in years and people are calling for his head? How on earth anyone with a semblance of intelligence can consider a professional athlete to be a bust before the termination of his rookie season is beyond words. How many rookies have standout seasons, the likes of which many of you around here seem to expect (or expected prior to the start of the year, as can be proven by the 'How will Yao do this season' threads created in the summer of 2002.) Let's take a look at the rookie seasons of this year's MVP candidates: Tracy McGrady: 7.0ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.5apg, 1.0bpg, 0.8spg in 18.4mpg. McGrady was considered a bust in Toronto. And now? Kevin Garnett: 10.4ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.8apg, 1.6bpg, 1.1spg in 28.7mpg Kobe Bryant: 7.6ppg, 1.9rpg, 1.3apg, 0.3bpg, 0.7spg in 15.5mpg Tim Duncan: 21.1ppg, 11.9rpg, 2.7apg, 2.5bpg, 0.7spg in 39.1mpg Jason Kidd: 11.7ppg, 5.4rpg, 7.7apg, 0.3bpg, 1.9spg in 33.8mpg Save for Tim Duncan (and possibly Jason Kidd), the statistics are not eye-popping. Of course Duncan spent 4 years honing his skills playing NCAA basketball while the first three jumped straight out of high school. I will not pretend to know I have the knowledge to compare and contrast the differences in game play between the NCAA and China's professional basketball league. Perhaps pro basketball in China is a tougher game than collegiate ball in the U.S. I will leave that for others to ponder. However, when you add to the fact that Yao had to leave the only home he's ever known and fly thousands of miles into an entirely brand new culture, language, and surroundings... How can anyone honestly expect any man to succeed instantly? Personally, I consider his season numbers to be a rousing success. I didn't expect 13.5ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.6apg, 1.8bpg, 0.3spg in 29.3mpg along with a .507 fg%. Those seem like great numbers for a young man new to everything around him, both socially and professionally. On top of that we've seen flashes of brilliance of what may come in future seasons, with the proper coaching. The November game against the Dallas Mavericks, the December matchup with the San Antonio Spurs which begain a string of several fantastic games of double-doubles, and of course the January showdown with Shaquille O'Neal. Additionally, take into account the fact that the NBA has never seen a physical specimen like Yao. A man as tall as he is with such an amazing passing touch and shooting touch? He has the potential to alter the Center position definition in the NBA for years to come (as men like Nowitzki and Garnett are doing for their positions) So, would I trade Yao Ming now. Put me down for an emphatic "Hell no!"
Maybe you haven't noticed that it is mainly Yao only fans who want him traded because he is "being wasted" in Houston.
No...no I think that this trade is start by a Yao's hater, rocket fan, because he is not worth for the team and he will be a bust. I am a Yao's fan and I want his team, the rocket, to success. It does not matter if Yao get less mintues as long as they play well as a team. However, there seem to be a lot of Yao's hater among the "true" rocket's fan lately. So, I do not mind if the rocket trade him. He is better be where he is wanted.
I'm a Yao only fan. I just care about Yao. Without Yao, I don't give a damn to your Rockets. NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THIS!!! Do I have to convert to a Rockets fan because I like Yao? Definitely No! You so called Rockets fans are pathetic! Yao just had several bad games recently, then you are talking about trading him. What a joke!
This is the dumbest thread I've seen in a while, uh, like 5 minutes ago... This isn't even worthy of a response...
When did I say Rox will suck w or w/o Yao? I just don't like too many yao-only fans dissing Francis/Mobley day in and day out. The over-hype over Yao ruined team chemistry. If things turned around on this BBS, I might start defending him. After all, Yao still ranks #10 in Field-Goal Percentage, #14 in Double-doubles, #15 in Rebounds, #15 in Blocks and #14 in Efficiency Ranking, not too bad for a rookie.
Man hes had what 3 bad games?? Ya your right hes terrible get rid of him! j/k Anyone heard of the Rookie Wall?? hes just hitting it late. He's gonna be fine geeze
So for all you people who are Yao only fans and don't care about the rocks. would you be happier if he play for the nugz? or heat? or how about bulls?
this off a topic that was locked and it really had nothing to do with that thread title that much but i think it will fit here. Before I really get bashed, I really don't want this trade to happen, but it would be something I would do in a game like NBA Live. I would only say trade Yao if its to a team where we know we can get real quality back. With his salary and the possible salary dumps we can look at the Memphis Grizzlies as the best option. They have a pf who makes about the same as Yao as well as other talented options. Houston can use Yao as bait and trade him along with MoT for Shane Battier (9.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.3 apg in 30.1 minutes) Mike Miller (15.8 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.6 apg in 34.9 minutes) Pau Gasol (19.0 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 2.7 apg in 35.6 minutes) Stromile Swift (9.4 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 21.7 minutes We get rid of Mo's Salary and get some real quality players back, including afuture all star in Gasol and legitmate starter in miller and battier. Memphis does this cuz they get will Yao. The Yao fan's happy cause hubby brown is a tough strict coach who will help Yao's developement. But this only me playing fantasy gm, NBA Live will make u pull way too many trades
