We'll sign him just before the playoffs start.

Posted in the GARM thread, but I'll repost here cause I like the Dish better:

As a Heat fan, I can tell you that Miller is certainly not done and would be a GREAT fit on this Rockets team. I, for one, would love to see him end up with Houston. Guy is a true professional who hustles his ass off, obviously a great shooter, above average rebounder, and underrated defender (people assume he's bad bc he's a white 3pt specialist). People really think Covington or BJ Young would be more productive for a win-now team? LOL @ you message board GM's and your love of the unknown and 'ZOMFG POTENTIAL!'.

Small sample, but in the last 11 games of the regular season (after the streak ending loss) where the Heat got rest for their stars, Miller averaged: 26 MPG, 52.3% FG, 51.5% 3FG, 5 RPG, 3.6 APG, 11.5 PPG. So he didn't just need the stars to create shots for him like people have been saying. I think it would be reasonable to expect similar production given a consistent ~20 MPG.

^^^ also, I don't understand the point people were making that he needed the Big 3 to create shots for him when he'd clearly have that luxury in Houston with Harden/Howard... there's gonna be PLENTY of wide open 3's to go around.

This is clearly not only about production.
He won't give us a discount.... He is getting paid 6 million a year

Huh? As long as he clears waivers, wherever he signs, it's gonna likely be for the minimum. Miami will be paying the difference between the 6 mil and whatever his new team gives him, so it's irrelevant.

I love Mike Miller, but really wouldn't have any interest in signing him. The guy can still shoot, but his body is blown glass now. 4 straight years of constant injuries. I don't even think there's a coin-flip chance he would be healthy by playoffs.

Good guy, but should probably hang-em up.

Yet another reason why you don't make a big 3 in the new CBA. You just can't afford anybody who wants more than vet min.

As long as they have Battier they will, according to your logic. Heat didn't win the first year the Big 3 got together(along w Miller). But they won the last 2 when they added Battier. So according to the "coincidence", they'll threepeat as long as Battier is there...;)

What makes you say this? All I've heard about him is that he's a family man with a wife and 3 kids. Oh, he's also got a foundation whose 'mission is to provide aid to disadvantaged or disabled children and to encourage children to have a healthy lifestyle. The Mike Miller Foundation has donated over 1.7 million in money and in kind donations to the Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the Youth Athletic Foundation, St Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN and the Make-A-Wish Organizations, in both Tennessee and South Dakota.'

That sure sounds like someone who blew threw most of his earnings to me.

Let's get him and let's keep him away from the right side of the court!

Uh...those three pointers that sunk the Spurs in Game 7. I really would like to see the Heat waive Battier and try to complete their three peat. That guy is such a game changer.

I'm sure he'll go to a contender like Spurs, Clips, or Miami.
