Miami would destroy us. No one can guard LeBron. Our perimeter defense is woeful and Parsons, Lin, Harden and Dwight are all TO prone which the Heat thrive on.

    Wait what, when was this?

And Parsons is a more athletic Larry Bird.

Dwight beat the Heat...Before they had Lebron.

If Dwight can dominate and Asik keeps improving his offensive game we have a good chance. Plus we have to limit turnovers which hurt us last season. I can see Harden going nuts In the finals.

in those two boxscores above, the Heat already had Lebron. in one of the games the starters had 10 three pointers while Howard had 25 rebounds. get rid of the in between game and you have a chance to beat the Heat.

That's b/c Duncan is old as dirt...when you miss an easy lay up and easy put back - you should just retire:mad:

What's up with all the Spurs love in this thread.......they are old and they are done.

did you not look at those boxscores from 2 seasons ago, did you not see L. James in the heat line up ?

with Dwight in the line up, it makes LeBron a jump shooter

the Spurs were at their best when they blocked off the driving lanes against the Heat, Rockets can do the same

even though we lost, in some ways Harden came of age in his game in Miami

Not enough depth and lack of a PF.

Honestly, a Udonis Haslem would be perfect for this team.

Dwight is a power forward who plays centre, doesn't that count

Oh sorry. I didn't think losing the series meant beating the Heat.

well the series was tied at 2-2 but what i was getting at was, the Heat can't stop Dwight and if you look at the 4 games in that season series, LeBron only shot 50 percent or better in one game

Dwight is a game changer on defence for sure, and so was Asik last season when he was in the middle, imagine 48 minutes of rim defence next season, it makes you drool just thinking about it

These types of comparisons never work. The NBA is all about matchups.

    1st: Miami has LeBron
    2nd: Miami has LeBron
3rd: The refs know that Miami has LeBron
4th: The Rockets have Dwight who might keep LeBron a little honest assuming Point #3 doesn't keep Dwight on the bench with foul trouble.
5th: Whichever team can get hot from 3pt range helps ...a lot! (and currently that favors Miami)

So currently I give the distinct advantage to Miami but Houston has a chance.

Well the only way to beat them is to food poison them.
No, seriously Miami's bench is deep. We need another role player and another star to stand a chance against them. I am not making the Miami Heat as an unstoppable force, because they're not. But with the team we have now is only good to win 2 games against them in a series. Maybe 3, but we need a deeper bench and someone strong at the 4.
