Ok Rockets fans, we are now officially lucky to have a gm who can get 2 all stars in less than a year. In the future or near future what all star do u guys think Morey will snag away and why?
I think our next All-Star will be Parsons... And I think Morey will go hard after Aldridge and Love - maybe after Rondo since he seems to be the most attainable.
But seriously, LMA because we have some decent assets for a threeway trade and they will be looking to sell at some point and be wanting something in return
From memory Morey has always said he is chasing a second star and just said there is a possibility of a third star. The third star is not necessary to win a championship but if it makes the team better, then go for it. I think Morey has decided to see if Asik, Parsons, Lin or someone else on our current roster can develop into a third star. I think nothing short of an elite player that fits with the team will get Morey to trade away any of our supporting cast. Some names that come to mind that would fit our team are: LeBron LMA Love Paul George Irving Melo ... But quite frankly I thinking we aren't going the third star route. Our core is probably set for the next two years. Asik is the only one I see moving and that's only because he wants to.
My current guess. 50% no 3rd All-Star while H&H are around. 30% Aldridge 10% Love 10% someone else, perhaps Lin/Parsons or some other trade possibility
Aldridge wants to be here apparently. The Rockets obviously have a ton of interest. We wouldnt have to give up Parsons as they have Batum. I would really keep an eye on Portland.
Lin, who is ranked 3rd towards winning last season despite role change and injury. He's as young as Parsons and better in last 2 seasons(regular season).
It's funny how Morey went from the GM who was 0-for-10 on getting an all-star to the GM who got 2 in less than a year. Everyone has wiped their memory banks of the 3 years the Rockets spent futilely sending iPads to free agents who wouldn't give us a second thought.
If you think about Morey's trades, they are what clutchfans' members would laugh at and say, "No WAY the other team does that." It's time for Morey to do that to Portland.
Morey is all about out working other GMs. While unsuccessful at hitting big jackpot until a season ago, he has been very good at making good deals when stars aren't involved. If you can win the shots on goal by a wide margin, you generally have the most goals, too. Provided Howard and Harden are healthy, Morey is a great GM to have in this position. Before Harden trade, I was beginning to worry about whether Morey could hit the home run.
