I've been wondering about this because I know harden likes to party. Hopefully, the addition of Howard's gets him extra motivated because taking care of his body is extremely important.
He has no tone or vascularity in his arms...probably like 17-18% bodyfat. A basketball player being paid millions per year under a max contract should have the dedication to be 12% tops, preferably less. It's pretty sad that my arms look way better than Harden's. Compare to how cut T-mac was:
Elite athletes go below 10% body fat. But i think you should let harden enjoy some time off though. No need to panic. He knows what he is doing. If however he shows at camp overweight then i think he has self discipline issues.
Hell, I couldn't wait. I did one myself. Spoiler X-axis is basketball skills and Y-axis is of course percent body fat
it's his posture. look at the pic where he is with some scandelous "fans" and he is shirtless. Looks pretty muscular to me. Though, his lifestyle might be something to worry about when he enters his 30s, but by then we will have not one, not two, not three but around 8 championships. He can get fat all he wants by then.
yeah hes definately around that 17-18% level of bf. which is kinda high for someone whose job is to run around n stuff.
Someone with 17% body fat is on the low side of normal. Sure, athletes are typically not in the "normal" range but who cares as long as he's ballin'? Hell, I think that's where I'm at and every time I eat just a little bit too much I get paunchy. Some people don't starve themselves! We'll see how big of a topic this is during the season when he's throwing it down on fools....
Sad? What are you talking about. Harden is top 12 of players in the entire league, who gives a f**k about him being 12% body fat as long as he's dedicated enough to keep playing the game at an elite level. And he does have muscle tone, just not as much as the other guys like LeBron, Rose, Westbrook, and Kobe. There is a reason why the call him an old school type player on the floor and it's not just cause of his basketball moves. That last image is his rookie year. Obviously he's put on pounds to be able to endure the beating he takes when attacking the rim all year long. You seriously need to stop hating.
I'm not worried, it's the off-season. I don't care if he takes a few months off. It's not like he needs to learn anything new. He'll be ready to go when the season starts.
^Puts this debate to rest. He doesn't have a six pack but he has a flat stomach (white party pic w/ girls). He draws contact regularly and gets fouled a lot. The bigger frame is fine to me. Harden has work ethic. Sure he likes to party but he knows the commitment it takes being around guys like Lebron, Paul, Kobe, KD, WB, etc
