Jeremy has always have good relationship with his teammates, even back in the days he was almost cut by the Knicks. He is still close to a lot of his old teammates. I wouldn't worry too much about him "losing" Chandler to Dwight Jeremy has a very good supporting network - his church, family, and close friends. He also has a roommate. Chandler should spend more time with Dwight to make him feel at home in Houston.
Jeremy's high school team did win the state champion. Detroit in '04 wont their title. Mavs in '11 also won their title, both were underdogs. THE ROCKETS won two championships as underdog both times. you were saying?
Lin is a good player...if you look at his splits he improved almost monthly last season and he was coming off knee surgery. Why does everyone have to spend the entire off-season (and season) trying to read these guy's minds? I hope it works out for him but as a ROCKET fan (imagine that-on a Houston Rockets fan board??) I'm more interested in the team's success. Regardless of what happens Jeremy has a $25M contract, a degree from Harvard, millions of fans world-wide, and a good family. I think he will probably be alright in the long run.
Yeah, the underdog in a series may win. High school means nothing. The Rockets had the best player in the world in '94 and and a battle tested veteran championship team in '95. I think what he meant was a team of solid players without stars ain't winning the NBA championship.
Don't make Lin out to some saint. I'm sure he does feel resentment, but he probably get over it quicker than most people.
I just don't think the NBA is the same as the NBA in the 90s. Even DMorey said something to the effect of we need 2 attacking guards. Basically, in a all perfect world, 1-4 can put the ball down and attack and also shoot 3s. I think Lin can do both and do both well.
IMHO, I don't really get why people think it's bad Lin wasn't in the recruiting process. Harden went because he's the star. Parsons went because he was buddies with Dwight. Lin doesn't know Dwight that well personally from what I've seen, so I saw no reason for him to go. Same would go for Asik if he actually wanted Dwight there. It'd just be awkward. Rockets already had a good pitch without including filler material.
He didn't go because they all know Lin haven't got persuasive charm like Parsons or the beard like Harden, seriously Parsons' personality and Harden is the superstar. That enough and we don't need the whole starters. Even if Lin were there he wouldn't add anything valuable to the talk. Oh wait I heard Howard was religious... probably not anymore
I said this in another thread but repeating it here: i wouldn't be suprised if they hit it off as the year progresses as they both have alot of detractors to prove wrong this year.
or maybe morey put him on the market and saw none was interested. My guess is that they told lin you're on the market and it's best you stay put and quiet. after seeing none was interested morey now says he is returning and lin is not happy.
That's why I HATED it when people thought DeAndre Jordan was some kind of hero for dunking on Brandon Wright. Quite frankly, it was just schoolyard cowardice, the same type of spineless behavior that makes kids cheer on the bully who picks on the unpopular kid with the asthma problem. Blake Griffin dunking on Mozgov or Perkins? That's brilliant. But a big guy dunking on the smallest guy on the court who actually has the guts to try to even block the shot? What's the matter with you people?
OH MY GOD WHO THE HELL CARES. Why wasn't Asik/Lin part of the recruiting process? Because they're the two players most likely to be moved if we wanted a 3rd star or whatever. Parsons is buddies, and on a contract that noone will move, Harden is our superstar and thats it. Additionally, since when was it protocol to bring your whole team to an interview. Water off a ducks back
This. More than all right. At minimum, he won't be broke as most players do within 5 years after leaving NBA.
