Like many have said here, Lin has a great opportunity this coming year. Not a ton of pressure on him except to protect the ball and knock down open shots. He's not being asked to carry much of the load at all. If he can't succeed here this year then he won't succeed anywhere IMO.
That's what he is working on. I believe he will improve a lot. But this year is different than last year. Is he going to be the real PG? Or he is still the spot-up shooter? I want to see how coach Mchale rotate the roster in a right way.
But he succeed last year except for playoffs. I think he will succeed anywhere when he is the real PG and play his game.
This is what I don't really understand. Why can't he perform both roles throughout the game? That's what he's going to need to be able to do. I don't want a ball dominant point guard like Rondo, and I don't want a PG like Fisher in his latter years that can only shoot. We have other players who can create shots so he needs to be able to do both.
It's a goofy term used to dismiss anyone who is critical of Jeremy. Anyone with a negative opinion of him is a bad guy and must be vilified!
well said...i dont get the big deal, yeah sure its a dunk and highlight but its still only 2 points. kids value highlights and dunks way too much
The point is that we don't need a "real" PG. We need a Ron Harper, Kenny Smith, John Paxson, Derek Fisher, Steve Kerr type. A guy that get people in the right spots and shoot the open jumpshot. I assume I don't have to tell you what these guys have in common.
Other than that dunk (which happens to everyone), Lin looked superb out there. Now, its not the NBA of course, but I think the confidence is back. The form on his 3 looks great and he was agressive in driving to the lane. I think he's set to have a really good year.
i think theyll have to...we need to keep asik happy and give him minutes...playing a pure back-up role will not give him enough
Lin is a diplomatic player and will say the right things to the media but anyone would feel a bit disrespected and left out if they choose ur backup to do the recruiting..beverly was at the rally and apparently helped chandler recruit dwight. Im sure lin feels a bit of resentment and bitterness towards the whole situation
Agreed. And he wouldn't have been dunked on if he wasn't the first one to get back quickly on D. But he's Jeremy Lin, so it's a big deal.
Finally he has spoken! Jeremy gave the standard politically correct answer. What else was he supposed to say. No news here. Once Jeremy lin see that he actually makes it to training camp and that he hasn't been traded he will get along with his new teammates and have fun. He still has his boy Chandler to lean on in bad times. Chandler seems to be Dwight's new boy now. So watch out Jeremy you have competition!
Jeremy or not aside, You are the first person I heard saying "shooters can't be made". I can't shake my head enough. Please refer to basketball God and have him enlighten you. There are a great lists of shooters in this league called NBA, and the rest of the world would disagree with you in a heart beat.
Lol wtf? Lin is a normal person. Watch his videos, moves, interivews, documentary..He admits its being disrepected is what drives him...
