Doesn't matter because the game will be out of reach for the other team by then.

Parsons is straight clutch. He can see over the D or shoot over them in most cases. He has no pressure on him taking the last shot. Sure Harden is better overall scorer but Parsons shoots the best overall percentages in fg and 3 pointers. Plus most teams will expect Harden to get ball which would give Parsons more space to operate.

To be honest, Parsons has shown time and time to be the clutchest out of them all. So I'd trust Parson with the ball.

    Dwight = get fouled (NO)
Harden & Lin both plays hard last 5 min but still not as dead eye as Parsons.

So yes I believe Parsons should have the last shot.

But I don't believe Parsons should be starting the last play. The person to start the last play should be Lin or Harden, and Parsons should somehow get the ball for the last shot from the play.

Parsons hit 1 three to send it to OT against the Lakers and a game winner in his rookie year over Kobe. What else am I missing? Harden has had more successful possessions in crunch time, but more attempts as well.

The problem with Parsons is if he cant get an open look then he should pass the ball. He's had a few turnovers in these situations because he tries to take it in.

Is this a schedule retopic every month or two?

This one is very reminiscent of the "Who is the de-facto dictator/ultimate leader of the team thread series".

This. P&R with Dwight seems like a no-brainer, should be more effective than iso'ing late in games.

This should have nothing to do with the fictional clutch gene, never believed in that stuff anyways. Just do what ever has been most successful and highest percentage and not risky.

The guy with the best shot at the basket should get the final possession.

This "final possession" stuff only works when you have an unstoppable superstar, someone like MJ, LBJ or Hakeem who will get the bucket no matter what. Unfortunately we don't have a guy like that, so giving the ball to Harden every time will not produce results because the opponent will just guard Harden.

Fortunately we have a lot of offensive weapons now, Lin, Howard, Parsons and Harden can all be counted on to hit clutch buckets at the end of the game. We should approach end games like the Spurs who have multiple threats instead of being like Miami wherein if you stop James you stop the Heat.

Some stats to prove this or did you use the good ol' eye test?

They should dump it down to howard. I could imagine the opponents giving a double team, so someone will be left open. After that the opponents will closein on the open guy. This will make it possible for someone to cut down the basket, or pass to howard who,s gonna be left open after his defensive man rotates to the open guys. Lots of options really. Lots of x and o possibilities.

If they play harden iso ball though, or lin isoball or chandler isoball, it will be less effective.

Was it even a question a month ago?

I watched him during last season. He didn't do anything for the Rockets with less than 24 seconds left in the game. I might be forgetting 1 basket, but it seems like he turns it over more than he gets a shot up.

Like the 100 Lin for Lin Against posts

This is one of those that gets beaten to death over and over, as if the posters still don't get the Rockets. Or appreciate the personalities of each individual player.

I'd advocate that people actually got to know the individuals themselves.

Its team superfriends >.< anybody that doesn't get how close parsons lin harden and the rest have bonded has been sipping on the koolaid for too long. Everyone respects Harden and Parsons and Lin. Those three have ALL done it. Garcia has also been a great shooter, delfino was an awesome shooter at times prior to being waived. etc etc etc.

    Best shot takes it.

Lets not forget Parson's had a game where he shot 80% from the entire floor. like 4-6 3pters and a bunch inside the arc. EIGHTY PERCENT.

The players should follow the play the coach draws up (ala pop). If the play breaks down then they have to kick it to whoever has the best shot. Look inside to Dwight, if not open, Lin and Harden have to drive and create. Parsons maybe open in the corner.

What a complete waste of a post. Completely forget context and ask a blanket question. BB is not black or white. There is no correct answer.
