Shannon Brown is who Morey should be going for. Rotting in Phoenix...so athletic...can go to the basket strong and is a great pick and roll player.
The ideal PG for the Rockets would put up 5-6 dimes, be a threat to get to the rim and shoot 40%+ from the 3 point line. Oh wait, isn't that Lin the last couple of months of the season?
I really don't know where all this trading for Rondo came up, it seems like half of CF thinks we are gonna trade for him all of a sudden. First off, they just hired Brad Stevens, if they get along there is no way they will trade Rondo. Second, the price tag would be huge, we would need to include Parsons, and more, so right there it is not worth it to me. With all this said, its not gonna happen. If he is traded at all, which I don't think he will be, it isn't worth it for us, and it won't be to us.
How so he's one of the best defenders at his position, has speed, moves the ball well and moves well without the ball, is not afraid to go strong to the basket and is a pretty good shooter from outside, plus he's got a ring and was a win from two. I think he's a perfect fit
I'm not hating on Lin, he's a great player but Rondo is far better with the defense he brings. If Rockets are willing to upgrade a strong center spot they should be willing to upgrade PG as well.
Simple reason why Rondo is not coming. No one wants to play with him or coach him. Look at the Celtics - everyone left even the coach.
Good one. Canaan is a bulkier version of him hopefully. Lillard was a killer from Summer League Day 1. Canaan missed his first step.
Don't like the idea. Are you sure if Rondo has recovered from his ACL injury? What about his team chemistry??
Rondo is still coming off ACL surgery. I wouldn't say he's better than a college scrub until he proves he can play again. I think it would be beneficial for him to take an extra year off like D.Rose.
Rondo's strengths: Great court vision Great on-ball defense Athletic Rebounds well for his position Can finish at the rim consistently Weaknesses: Free throws Perimeter shooting Potential problem in the locker room Fresh from a major injury that takes months to recover from and rehabilitate (ie: Rose) What this team needs: Defense and 3-PT shooting to compliment the 1 in 4 out style that Orlando did so well. What would also be a complimentary would be play-making ability to take some pressure off of Harden. What do the Rockets currently have? Lin: Has shown ability to run a team offense. Great Pick and Roll player. Working on improving shot and decision making. Questionable defense. Beverley: Phenomenal athletic defender, 3-PT shooting will need to be reassessed as the season continues. Can make momentum changing plays but remains to be seen if he can direct the traffic for a team offense. What does this mean? We have two great PGs that we can rotate freely to address the problems on the court when they come up. The chemistry is in place and they are both young and ready to improve. Both are healthy, and have shown the desire and work ethic to improve. Regardless of who starts, whose a 6th man, or anything else. What we have, is good. What we have works and will be better when the season starts. Anything that may change that, seems kind of stupid.
Celtics won't do that. Only way we can get Rondo probably is if we give up Chandler plus a bunch of future picks. Lets be real, Rondo is a top PG and still relatively young. He has value. More trade value than both Pierce+KG combined (as they are near retirement and all they could fetch were a bunch of future picks with little value)
No-one seems to be talking about the elephant in the room... Health and Injury. Does anyone know Rondo's injury status? Is he going to take an extra year off like D.Rose? Has he played any basketball since his injury, does he look like he's at All-Star level? I'm not sure the Rockets should take that risk.
