The exciting basketball plays that were missing in houston 2012-2013

In NY, he was able to throw perfect lob passes to tyson chandler, landry fields, and iman shumpert. He made them all look like superstars.

There's no reason why he shouldn't be able to replicate that in houston..

There is a huge reason we have not seen more of this from Lin; Asik sucks at catching. If we do keep around Lin and Dwight is completely recovered, I expect to see a lot more alley oops as Dwight rolls hard off the PnR towards the basket.

Lin made G. Smith look awesome at times. Can't wait to see what he can do with Dwight.

I just get the feeling Asik can't get off the ground. Coupled with his hands, he honestly just doesnt seem athletic enough to go up get those passes, and finish on a regular basis.

The problem is, does Howard like to do this?

Worst case scenario for Lin: He gets traded WITH Asik.

Haha. Quite honestly, the worst case scenario for Lin was last year with Harden as PG and McHale as his coach. Neither of them believed in Lin. Without that confidence, Lin just isn't that good. That's his biggest weakness in my opinion - being a pushover and losing confidence when Harden, the PG, ignores him on offense.

8 of the 10 dunks there are on lobs.

I thought this thread may have been created because of the signing of Howard. As in, "Guess who Lin gets to pass to now?"

Part of it is due to D'antoni's offensive system. Say what you want about D'antoni's terribad player management and coaching, particularly the defensive aspect, his offensive plays, however, are sick.

    ALso, sick vid nonetheless.

It's pretty hard to do that when you're standing in the corner waiting for someone to pass to you.

I would be ecstatic if Dwight can play at a high level like this again. Unfortunately, I don't think he's capable of doing it. Look how effortless he makes those dunks seem. I really hope Superman proves me wrong.

Give him some time to recover from his injury. He was playing hurt and looked good toward the back end of last season.

Some people feel he will never be the same guy as he used to be. I think that he will be close, if not quite there.

With his level of athleticism, even 90% of what he was is incredible.

Thing is in every single example - this only happens because of terrible transition defense and moreover each team is just notoriously bad at defense. Kings, Raptors, Cavs, etc.

Not so much about the catching (though admittedly Asik is a bit lacking in that department) but about the lack of awareness by the defense that Lin had this kind of passing in his repertoire and that the Knicks had those kinds of cutters.

This kinda stuff didn't happen in this past season cause Parsons was the only reliable cutter, Lin's been scouted, and our 7-footer couldn't catch. Let's see how it goes this coming season - I'm guessing marginal improvement (teams don't leave Dwight open).

Lin has great leading pass, and he has guts to make those plays

If you compare those Ally-oops with the Clippers, his pass is quite simple.

Alley oops are fun and all but what's most exciting to me is the game ending in a Rockets W. So I can't say last season lacked excitement for me.

Just my opinion, but finishing lob passes doesn't make you look like a superstar, it makes you look like an amazing athlete. DeAndre Jordan says hello.

That being said I certainly won't mind seeing Dwight finish some alley oop passes from Lin this season. Should be a fun year.
