So our Rockets ticket rep contacted us today about buying season tickets for the upcoming season. We told her we weren't sure if we wanted to buy full season tickets this year maybe just half season or a partial game plan. But she said that the Rockets will most likely have no half season ticket plans or even partial game plans this year.

She said ticket sales are really doing good right now. Not just because of Howard but because of the Rockets making the playoffs last season. She said season tickets sales have been really good ever since the playoffs.

So what do you all think I should do? I'm really thinking I might buy season tickets. If the Rockets are planning on selling out every game this year it might be a good thing to buy season tickets. I could sell all the premium games like Miami, OKC, Lakers, etc. and make some of my Miami back. Also means that I will get play off tickets which I will be able to sell for more than I paid. last year I bought them for $60 on the lower bowl and they were going for about $140 down stairs.

Do you think the ticket Rep is just trying to get me to buy season tickets or do you think they really will sell out almost every game? What are y'all going to do?

But if the Rockets make the playoffs I probably will go to the game instead of selling them.

That fear is how they get you, lol. I caved and got them for that reason. I will say that I just read an article saying that the Warriors sold a record number of season tix this year due to their playoff performance last year + Iggy... so they're about to cap the number of season tix b/c they'll barely have any single tix available if they don't. As it is, I think they're only projecting about 1,500 single tix per game, which isn't a lot. I give you that example just to say that a great performance + big FA signing can legit give the sort of boost the ticket rep mentioned.

And I tend to believe them re: partial packages. They usually would have been on sale for over a month now, I think.

They never start selling partial packages until the schedule comes out. I'm going to wait it out a bit before I pull the trigger on anything.

KPRC interviewed the ticket broker that's half a block from Toyota Center (with the big bobble heads) and he said he doesn't think it will sell out before the season starts bc lots of people will have wait and see attitudes. So if the Rockets do we'll, they become a hot ticket but if they stumble, people in Houston will just pass.

they are not going to sell out season ticket, thats a bunch of garbage, hell even the Heat didn't sell out their first game together back in 2010

the hardcore fans that can afford them already got their tickets BEFORE the Dwight signing, its the bandwagon/casual fans are at a wait and see approach to see how the team does

Don't get your hopes up in selling premium games, the past 7 seasons, I'd be lucky to even get face value when I bought extras, sometimes I had to eat the cost and just gave them away to people I knew

I'm about 95% sure they'll sell 1/2 season, and mini packages. There are 41 games plus preseason, plus playoffs, it isn't like the Texans where its 8 games, 2 preseason, plus playoff games.

I think you were smart to go ahead and buy them. I bought mine before the D12 signing and the prices have already gone up. I was told they will probably go up again. I really couldn't afford it-but we ended up going to almost all the home games anyway!! And if they don't get the TV deal done-we'll probably do the same this next season. We made quite a profit on play-off tickets and I KNOW we'll be in the play-offs again!! It makes sense to me!!

Season tickets are so damn expensive. I'd never get season tickets unless i made 6 figures.

FYI i would never buy upper level.

I've literally sat everywhere in Toyota Center. I've had floor seats, upper level lower, club section everywhere. I really don't mind sitting anywhere in Toyota Center. I bought season tickets but it's upper bowl because that's all I could afford for a full season.

So I will see how they are but I will probably not even try to sell any of my tickets and just go to as many games as I can.

I do agree that they will most likely end up selling 1/2 season and mini packages. But whatever I already bought my tickets just in case prices go up anymore.

Yeah sitting in the upper level is terrible. I had full season tickets for yao and t-mac and also had them during the 90s I think if thats what you enjoy than do it. If not than it's certainly a waste of money

Of course they're going to have partial plans but thats how they get you. Selling tactics. More power to you if you can afford season tickets.

Me and my buddy went to game 6 of the Thunder series, had way too much to drink and ended up buying a full season ticket package from a smoking hot sales rep. I could only afford upper level but got mid court row 1 so I'm hoping I enjoy the seats.

PS...didn't tell my wife that I bought them for fear she might shoot me (the whole better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission thing). She was none too pleased when that first draft of $234 dollars came out of our bank account last month. But when we got Dwight her attitude changed, she has enjoyed watching him ever since his superman cape dunk contest we watched several years ago.
