I don't think Lin can be consistent if he plays the 3rd or 4th scoring option. Parsons too. But their D can be.
Amazing creativity!! Love it! Great news, this definitely crushes the dream of trolls like M. De Moor who bash Lin and got banned from BR for his unprofessional writing. The worst part about is, is that he considers himself a "Rockets" fan and a "Knicks" fan.
Perhaps a game to help defray the cost of his contract to his new team? He could tweet about missing a couple players for his team... "anyone want to join in?" I hope he sticks with the Rockets too. I want to see how he plays after a full offseason of working on his game instead of his knee.

I read from a forum that they pay more than $500 for a ticket just to see Lin plays. Refund is what they will demand if Lin gets traded before the game. If there is a trade, I guess later is better.
Lol. That would be incredible. I can picture it now. The air filled with flying fruit at an nba game.
With Dwight getting around 20 points a game. It could very well come from other other player's points. Assuming we still play at breakneck pace and average round 106 points a game, I think Dwight's 20 points a game will reduce Parsons scoring to 10 points (15), Lin to 10 (13), Asik to 5 (11), Harden to 23 (26) and 3 points less for the bench. If T-Jones or D-Mo really improve their scoring averages this season then the other players will go down more.
Response As an employer myself (and also a Lin fan), I think Rockets as an employer has the right to change their plan on how to utilize Lin as they see fit or trade him. However, I think coach Mac was not being a strong coach for not getting on Harden when he didn't put enough effort on his D. The way the team mentality works, if other teammates saw Mac chew out Harden for not playing tough D, I bet all other players would have respected him and played harder. Even though Harden is a young player, if he wants to be a true leader, he has to set a good example through action, not just talks.
This statement is BS...Lin had one of the top 10 highest 2pt-shot percentages for a starting PG, and a respectable eFG and TS%. If you wanna say that his 3 point shot is not good enough to be a starter in the Rocket's system, that's a fair argument...but then to say that he may not even "stick" around in the NBA is laughable.
it makes me wonder if mchale has the coaching savvy to get the best out of our team and bring us to the promise land. He was a VERY vital piece in getting dwight and i really hope he can manage the egos on this team. like you said, i think he could've done a better job putting harden in his place when harden looked like he didn't care about running back on D. you could tell that mchale wasn't totally sure how to manage a budding super star who was lackluster at times but scored so many points for us. he was probably thinking, "just give the ball to harden." it doesn't help that the rest of our team was the youngest team made up of a hodge podge of players with no real identity and style of play. i hope he has more defined roles for everyone with real sets to run, better management of player time for durability sake, and find a balance between run-'n-gun ball with half court post ups.
That's how you get fired in this league. But I give credit to McHale in the playoffs. He tried to reign in Harden. He told Harden some of his shots were straight out bad and Harden said they weren't. What did you want him to do bench him in the playoffs? The hardest thing to do is manage egos in the league. Coaches can increase their longevity by riding stars coatails. JVG never had a bad word to say about TMac's play. He knew TMac was the kingmaker. Mike Brown kissed Lebron's ass every chance he got. SVG didn't apease dwight as much and was canned. Of course Popovich gets away with it SA but that's because Duncan respects him and is never gonna request he get canned . I think now you will see McHale be a little Harder on Harden to enforce this inside out game because Howard is probably more the man at this point. I mean one of the selling points of coming here was McHale and that gives McHale a little more security. McHale isn't my first choice as coach but he has proven he can follow Morey's plan and he is a decent personality that the players gravitate towards. (There are better) But he is good enough and I think the Rockets will be fine with him. Just listen to Morey as to what works best and implement it and make sure everyone buys into the new inside out system. Still don't expect a lot of chewing out. Part of what you think Harden should be chewed out for is not even real. Haren was doing it all. More than Kobe on the lakers. The kind of effort he exerted on the offensive side takes a lot out of you. In order to have some energy on the O side Harden used less on the D side. He is a capable defender and has proven it in the past. But he can not do that on both sides of the court all the time. He is human. With Howard there he might be able to do less on the O side and not need to do as much on the D side.
The fact that the list was of players that were going to LA to work out WITH Howard meant I did not need to add him to the list.
and you and several other people say that as if it is a fact....when you DO NOT know that. To the millionaires that run just about every team, that extra off the cap money isnt that big of a deal. They DO worry about cap hits as that effects how they run the basketball side of the team.
I read from a Chinese language forum that Taiwanese fans were promised a refund up to 10 days before the game, and they swear to refund the tickets if Jeremy is not with either team.
Of course it not fact, it my OPINION that Lin would be more unattractive to small city unprofitable teams because of the 15m balloon payment in the final year. It's only 7m over the cap hit of 8.3m but I think this is significant because many of the small teams are losing a lot of money. 2 years ago there was a lock out because these small team owners couldn't afford to pay rising payer salaries whilst their teams are losing money at the same time. Here's a link to a Forbes article about the 2013 NBA team profitability picture: http://www.forbes.com/sites/chrissmith/2013/01/23/the-nbas-most-and-least-profitable-teams/ Most profitable is New York. 5-year Average Profit 55 million Rockets rank no.3 5-year Average profit 28 million Least profitable is Bobcats 5-year Average loss is 16 million You are I right in the fact that I don't know what millionaire team owners are willing to spend on Jeremy Lin but I am right when I said "Lin's 15m balloon payment means Lin is a more unattractive trade prospect to cash strapped small city teams that are already losing money. It's just common sense he is less attractive. I never said its impossible for them to take take the hit to their cash.
