I guess they will actually read anything from the teleprompter with no actual comprehension of what they are saying after all. I would have busted out laughing half way through reading the names on air. That was a hilarious news moment. It would have only been topped off if she closed the news with "On behalf of all of us at Channel 2 News, go **** yourselves, b****es".
Hahahaha... Here it is in better quality: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/L1JYHNX8pdo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
KTVU got trolled hard. You would think being in the Bay Area they would've known better. Reminded me of this SNL skit from 2001. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/4XMr3QO2Sbc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
"Careless and despicable reporting. People are still recovering from the deadly crash." - Attorney Mee Soo Yu.
Goes to show you that racism is pervasive in American society. Who really believes that "Chink in the Armor" was an innocent mistake by ESPN?
True, the problem is really the lack of positive representation to offset the numerous jokes and stereotypes against Asians LOL
To me it's not racist at all. The joke is (to my eyes) purely on the ignorance of the TV station's staff. When I used to submit announcements to the high school principal, I would make up English-sounding names that made ridiculous and juvenile jokes (Phil McCracken, anyone?), and the joke was not on England, I tell you what. it was on the principal. I don't see any denigration of Asians at all. It's just a stupid prank that could only work on an ignorant person not paying attention. If anyone wants to get mad, i guess it could be because there is death and suffering involved in the tragedy. That said, if you're going to try to troll the station, there was a narrow window of opportunity and the pranksters really threaded the needle. I giggled.
As an asian, I found this hiliarious! And anyone who finds this offensive needs to get with the times. Too many overly sensitive people these days.
