Yeah, Jones is making me okay with taking less for Asik. Like maybe just picks and some more shooters.

I'm excited to see what he does next year!

I agree. I think he will be the clear starter next to DH12 and will do extremely well in that role even if he doesn't take a lot of 3pts. I think they will be extremely difficult for other teams to match up to. Even more, I think DMo extra weight and probably improved 3pt shooting just from being more comfortable in his second year will make him a VERY VALUABLE asset playing beside Asik in the second unit. Bev, Garcia, DMo and Asik will make our bench one of the strongest in the league because they will have defense, and inside presence and 3pt shooting ALL.

Our team is more stacked than people realize with TJones and DMo emerging to play decent roles, they don't have to be stars, but just very effective role players to make us a championship team. Now if we add another serious 3pt shooter and/or wing defended with out room mle, I really don't see who can beat us!

I am predicting that jones has a marcus morris type of season but may be slightly better. I remember people wanting to declare morris a bust bc of how he jumped back and forth between the rockets and RGV but he turned out to be a pretty solid rotational player with room to improve. if jones turns out to be a little better than morris in his second year, the rockets will be pretty dirty.

after reading this, i feel more comfortable not signing a star pf which will give away more than half of our asset

what's funny is I watched Terrence make that exact move - the pump-fake from the 3-point line and the drive and finish for the and-1 at the rim or the deft pass for an easy 2 - several times in this summer league, which is why I thought he looked like Odom.

He'll have to hit at least 30% of his 3s for that pump-fake to continue to work, but that seems achievable . . .

Maybe even Shaq / Horry like.

Jones is long and fast --> seems to be at the right spot on the floor to make good things happen --> an Odem / Horry blend

I think Jones is the answer to the power forward we be looking for with Howard by his side. (and Parsons, Lin and Harden on the other side of him)

Terrence Jones, a lesser Howard paired with Dwight Howard, a greater Jones. This will be an amazing FC with CP25

Almost exactly the same play. Exept Jones went to the right as a lefty.

i would play d-mo alongside howard, just cos he is such a gr88 shooter and that will help us space the floor better. our second unit will be lin,asik,garcia,t-jones and whoever we have as a good shooting guard.

Correct. The biggest difference was Lamar's ability to make jump shots. Jones' biggest weakness is the lack of an outside shot.

:lmao: They are nothing alike. Odom could dominate within shooting and had athletic ability and smarts to run the offense through him. I like tj but there's a wide gap there.
