Im sick of all the negative Yao threads. Have you ever thought he could be playing bad because of inkury and fatigue? Let's see, he was injured against the Lakers. A blow to the head can give you a headache for several days, and that was.... hmmm....about 2 DAYS AGO! I'm sure his head is still hurting, and he is getting somewhat tired going down the stretch playing back-to-back games. After all, he has been playing basketball for 2 STRAIGHT YEARS!!! I'm sick and tired of all these "Yao Sucks" and "Yao won't get the ROY" threads. HE IS HUMAN. HE WILL HAVE SOME BAD GAMES, ESPECIALLY WHEN HE IS TIRED/INJURED. GET OFF HIS FRICKIN CASE!
Really, if you want people to stop dissing Ming you have to start numerous threads bashing the other Rockets. Only then will they realize the greatness of Ming. Stuff like: Cut Mobley!!!!! Fracis doesn't get "it"!!!!!!!! Posey is trash!!! Rice is a fat old man!!!!!! Worst pfs in the league!!! Hire Tim Hardaway for head coach!!! I think that about covers it. Have fun and don't forget the !!!!
Most rookies get off pretty easy. If the difference between winning and losing is your rookie, youre team wasn't very good to begin with.
There actually havn't been to many negative Yao threads compared to the ungodly amount of positive Yao threads... Hes no Cosmo Krammer.. ok little of subject....maybe, maybe no.
I am too surprised to see so many negative threads. By the end of next season, no one would even bother to mention his name. Dynasties come and go. But this one died even before it was born.
Every Rocket high profile Rookie of recent memory (even low profile ones like Mr Langhi) have been given a free pass in their first. Out of Francis, Mobley, Jason Collier, Eddy Griffin, Dickerson, Rhodes, Yao etc., only Yao has been more scrutinized (and loved as well). This year Yao deserves a "free" pass just like his predecessors enjoyed one also. But Yao does not really need our "free" pass, he is a big boy and he can take care of business himself. He has already surpassed our preset expectations of him. He will lead up to at least an NBA championship during his tenure in Houston as a player, and he will turn out to be a great one in this league for a good amount of time. I am the least bit worried about Yao and his game/future. I more more worried about the people he is surrounded with. Tomorrow is bounce back day. Remember we live in a fickle world.
In case you did not notice, the whole organization sucks too. Every one stinks last two game, the organization embarrassing their players employ such a sh!tty interrim coach.
Yao was bound to hit the wall... Athough I don't think this is it...He's just fatigued, after all,he's been playing practically 2 years straight... The guy is a rook, and we can't expect him to be like Hakeem 94-95, yet... This Yao crap is being blown out of proportion... Give the guy a break...
No matter how many times we discuss this, friggin people always keep forgetting that they can't and shouldn't judge Yao Ming based on his first year in NBA. You guys who bash Yao Ming, do you think he is gonna be like that ALL THE TIME until his last year in NBA, or do you just want to find some channel for your anger after your pride and ego crashed down? EddieWasSnubbed is still right on about Yao's performance in his first year at NBA. He predicted like 13 PPG, 8 RPG, 3 BLKS.
Just be fair. At this time of a season, you can't blame a rookie for the problem the team faces. Take Suns for example, Amare has not been a factor at all lately. The reason they won two games on the road is they have more will and displine. Their star players like Marbury and Marion are stepping up. We need SF, Rice to hit their shots from now on, and we also need to play better defense as a whole team.
Well said EddieWasSnubbed, but let's cut some slacks for the poor silent Yao haters. They didn't get much chance in this season to come out the way they are now to celebrate on the rookie's struggle as much as we celebrate on his success. As Yao gets stronger and gains more experience playing in the NBA. These silent Yao haters will have to wait a little longer and longer in the shadow and pray a little harder and harder for them to come out and celebrate on Yao's struggle once again.
He'll get stronger but also slower than his snail's pace. What's this crap about him moving like a guard. He 's about the same speed as bradley. In fact he's not nearly as good as Rick Smits . Forget about Shaq, Shaq is waaaay better. Robinson in his prime was waaaay better. IN fact Bradley outplayed Yao in the last game against Dallas.
