Stephen King responds to readers who are peeved at changes to TV version from the book version. No spoilers.
I thought it looked absolutely dreadful in the previews, but I thought the first episode was pretty good. I will certainly check out episode two. And yeah yeah yeah...I am a sucker for sci-fi/fantasy so even when things look dreadful, I still cannot help but watch.
I wish I could disagree, it's gotten really stupid really quickly. I'm the type of sticks around till the end since I started it and I'll do that here, don't have high hopes.
It has all the hallmarks of a bad Stephen King adapation; cheesy characters, stupid actions, etc..... I haven't read the book so maybe it's written that way.
I've only seen the premier episode and was slightly intrigued. I agree that psycho kid pisses me off. Lots of other really weird, poorly written characters and interactions.
The finale was one of the worst ever. Complete failure by the writers. At one point, it seemed like the show might have potential. It does not.
You can tell the writers are making it up as they go along. I don't know how the Book ended, but I'm curious to see if they are still following it. If so, that is a terrible book. I'm going to stick with it though... The great thing about sci-fi TV is it can change in an instant and become great. They have introduced a quadrillion questions, so they can take any one and make a good show.
It was bad? That's disappointing, since Brian K. Vaughn's comic books are usually top of my list. Though I didn't enjoy Y the last Man
