all the way through without the spread gun? That's got to be the greatest weapon in video game history. I've been playing the Contra game on PS2 at my friend's house....just not the same without the spread gun...
The Contra on PS2 SUCKS! How can anyone be the best at Contra? Its so freakin easy! I've been dying to meet someone who could even remotely challenge me at Mario Kart on N64. I mean its not even funny how good I am at that game. I am GOD when it comes to Mario Kart (except the battle mode). I've made grown men cry when they play me.
I could have beaten you 2-4 years ago, but probably not anymore. Used to be good at most of the shortcuts, whereas now the onyl one I can do with regularity is the easy Wario Stadium one
ohhh....and there are probably people out there who can kick your ass. I used to think I rocked at SSX tricky until I found some of the "official" high scores. 2+ million poitns on SnowDream. Even with gamefaq, I can't get that close.
NO FREAKIN WAY DUDE! I WILL DESTROY ANYONE AND EVERYONE THAT PLAYS ME! I can probably beat a stage or two with my eyes close. I can do almost all of the shortcuts with relative ease. And which short cut in Wario Stadium are you talking about? I personally know of three. And I did not need no cheap ass website to find out the tricks. I made them on my own.
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start. ... Yeah, I'm pretty good at Contra. A, A, B, B, A, A, B, B. ... I'm also pretty good at Ikari Warriors.
I've beaten Battletoads solo several times (without cheating). The 3rd level (hoverbike thingys), 6th level (snake pit) and 11th level (this glowing orb is chasing you...and you have literally zero margin of error) were particularly tough. I haven't been able to finish the game co-op with a friend though. Excellent game that ages well....I still enjoy playing it now. TMNT 1 is EXTREMELY difficult from the underwater part (with the electric seaweed) onward. One of the few games I couldn't finish. Anyone who beats the original Ninja Gaiden without cheating is a friggin' god in my eyes. I can *almost* do it...just could never beat the final boss. The entire Adventure Island series on NES is tough as hell, too...especially the first game. I can get very far in all of them (end boss in parts 2 and 3), but I can't beat any of them. As for Mario Kart 64, I know of two Wario Stadium shortcuts...but I could only pull one of them off (the one where you jump over the wall near the beginning of the lap, literally skipping half the track.) I like the Rainbow Road shortcut also (where you jump off the side of the track, freefall through the air, and land on the track below, skipping about 1/3 of the track.) That one requires precision timing and a good angle to pull off correctly. I'm pretty good at MK64, but I am bad ass at the original Super Mario Kart for SNES.
Everyone knows about that short cut. The harder one is jumping right back over the wall you have just jumped. You have to land exactly behind the starting line or it wont count. So in theory you should be able to finish a lap in around so 15-20 seconds. OF course this said shortcut is probably the hardest one to do and even I can barely do it. Here is another short cut for you losers. In the very first stage of the Mushroom cup start off as Toad. You will start out in eight place. Get the little boost at the green light. Steer sharlp right and try to jump off of Boswer or Warios head. You should be able to jump right off the road and land in complete blackness. If you are lucky the cloud person will take you and land you right in front of the finish line. So you will have finished a lap in about 10 seconds. Shiyaat. Tell me I am not the king of all short cuts! I know many many more, but am not about to tell all of them.
On The original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, I was able to get over 600,000 points in a 2 minute run on the Warehouse Level without any cheats whatsoever, My friends hated me because I would tell them I'd do one trick and then put the controller down, I'd do a huge combo, get 20,000 points, and they would try so hard for the next 1:40 or so trying to get just to that. It was simple because I'd just do a Fastplant into a backflip over the little wall, land on the rail and do my special grind all the way to the end putting up about 10 kickflips on it, do that 4 or 5 times and it's curtains. Then on THPS2 they added Manuals so I could get 2 million points with Spiderman on the France Level with no cheats.
Someone asked for good GBA games. Here you go: Golden Sun Advance Wars Mega Man & Bass Mario World Yoshi's Island Link to the Past/Four Swords Breath of Fire Breath of Fire II All i can think of off the top of my head... Anyhow, Wind Waker is a great game. From the intro on I was hooked. (Love the music in that). More Zelda goodness...
I earlier said that I thought Battle Toads was the hardest game ever but this morning I remembered the one game that became "the game that shall not be mentioned". This is a game that took several hours of practice to be able to get past stage one. The game that took months of playing before I get to stage 3. Once. The game that I still have no idea how many stages there are because nobody on this planet has gotten to stage 4. Try downloading the "Spelunker" emulator sometime if you really want to drive yourself mad with the difficulty of this NES game.
