Going to make an investment and purchase Rockets season tickets now, but I can't find anywhere on the web how much money Flash Seats charges as a fee to sell the tickets you can't use. Anyone have any experience selling through Flash Seats? Trying to figure out what the true cost of season tickets would be if I go to half the games and sell the other half, but I need to know what this fee would be. For some strange reason, there's nothing about this on Google.
If you buy season tickets and choose delivery through flash seats, you save the $15 delivery fee. The fees to sell the tickets all depends on how much you sell the tickets for. Typically I've sold my tickets from $40 - $120 for a pair and have not had to pay a fee for selling them. The fee is passed on to the buyer, similar to a convenience fee if you buy tickets from the box office. However, if you sell them for a premium there will be a fee. For Example, I bought playoff tickets for $70 a piece and sold them on flash seats for $150. I received $283.76 for a pair sold, so that's a 5.4% fee give or take. The fee really depends on how much you sold them for. Honestly the convenience is great to sell them with flash seats and had much success doing so. I've tried selling them through craigslist and had several instance where a person backed out last minute on buying the tickets and out of luck on finding a buyer. I have a positive experience with using it and switched my season tickets back to flash seats after having paper tickets.
What you should do if you're trying to sell tickets on flash seats is leave an email address on the comments so you can negotiate outside of flashseats to avoid fees.
Yah season ticket holders don't pay fees to sell. I love it because I don't have to worry about meeting people on Craigslist and if all I have to do is swipe my ID to go into the area for games.
I was just looking to buying tickets to the shootout next weekend to watch the Arizona game and the convenience fee is $30, or 20% or the overall ticket. My Green Day tickets also had a 20+% fee as well. I didn't think about it much at the time i bought Green Day tickets last month (also over 20% of purchase price) but looking at it today really ticked me off. Thanks Trump.
StubHub isn't much better. I was looking to get two Golden State tickets for Oakland in early January, and $140 tickets had $40 of fees per ticket. The entire ticket sales market is ridiculous with their fees.
it's one thing for a 3rd party to charge a fee because i get they have to cover their overhead, but if the source provider is selling the ticket then all costs should be captured by that ticket price.
They provide you the tickets yes, but when you post them for resell that is a separate service. No real difference than how NFL Ticket Exchange works. I personally think Flash Seats is one of the better systems out there, because of how you can securely pass tickets via email without a fee. Sell on Craigslist, the boards, etc., and transfer for free. You can't recall those tickets you send, nor can you print them out and use them for yourself before getting there (like happens on StubHub from time to time).
THIS I am a huge advocate of flash seats (although service fees have gone up this year I think), but I went to close to 20 Nuggets games last season, sat in the lower bowl for every game, always in the first 10 rows, even a few court side seats and spent under $300 total.
