Why does Dwight get the heat for playing through his torn labrum, but Nash misses 57 games with a hip replacement?

He wasn't having fun. If he's having fun and we're winning and the pick and roll is a part of th at - I'll be shocked if he's not fine with it. Especially when he's rewarded for rolling. And Harden, Lin and Beverley will all reward him for rolling to the basket.

I know Steve Nash rewards players for moving without the ball too - but he was injured most of the season and Kobe did most of the ball handling. Nash is also about 120 years old in PG years.

Won't matter. McHale barely runs any plays any ways. Howard will see a lot more post ups...

Totally trash reporting, and you took it out of context.

I live in LA and Nach went on local espn radio today. I listened to the whole interview while driving. His exact words were Howard like to do some posting along with PnR. And not only PnR all the time.

Turdell is a Lakers fan. This is sour grapes. And why the poster start this thread to rain on our parade, I have no idea.

Nash can pass and shoot, but he's too old to penetrate.

Exactly. For the Pick N Roll to be effective, you have to have a guard who is willing to actually PASS the ball. Kobe and Melo are 2 of the worst PnR players because they think the PnR exists only to provide them with uncontested shots. I wouldn't want to run the PnR with Kobe either if I was Dwight.

The media is going to bag on Dwight as long as they can until Houston has success because one of ESPiN's media darling favorite big cities just got rejected by an All-Star who chose to leave that cesspool and go somewhere that a real, hardworking basketball team is being built with talent, hard work and great front office leadership as opposed to where he left; An entitled, arrogant franchise that thinks because they are LA that everyone should swoon and sign up to play there. They have been cheating the salary cap and overpaying to retain past glory for far too long and I think they are finally going to reap the whirlwind... Suck it Fakers

This actually is my biggest concern with Dwight. He needs to grow up and realize he will never be a good post threat, but what he is good at is PNRing. Even in his last days in Orlando there were reports of him wanting to feature more as an "old school" center (i.e. more posting, less PNR), and if that same attitude continues, he won't be nearly as effective on offense for us. And we have two great PNR ball handlers (Harden/Lin), so there's no excuse for Dwight to practice his robotic mockery of Hakeem any more than absolutely necessary in game.

To beat the Heats/OKC, our bigs need post game and smalls need jump shooting
PNR is not efficient against their D.

sad. you guys are seriously losing it. you all sound like the Fakers last year when they signed Howard. or even the Knicks when won a few games at the start of the season.

omg omg Nash is too old to know what he's talking about!! omg Howard can score 100 points and block 100 shots now that he's on the Houston Rockets!!

It's funny, a clear majority of Rockets fans calling Dwight a selfish and stupid player b/c he disliked the PnR are now on his nuts defending him. If that's you, then you disgust me.

This is perhaps the best post in this thread. It's funny, but this is exactly what happened.

With TP9 and TD, the Spurs have great PNR and Post-up offenses, but they are too old.

Lin: Coach, Dwight doesn't wanna run the pick and roll.
McHale: That's OK. James- go iso!
    Harden: Not again....

Remember how JVG said the hardest thing in coaching is to deal with an aging superstar? Well that's the Lakers right now. That whole team. It's just four huge egos and zero legs in Kobe Artest Nash and Gasol. Maybe Gasol can still play. But those other guys are spent. Except Artest. If he plays for us. I just love the idea of Artest as our enforcer. He can come off the bench a couple games in the regular season to brush chest hairs with anyone who ruffles Dwight or Harden's feathers, take the suspensions in stride, and keep on chuggin. I would like that.

Putting it through the transmogrifying translator:

Steve Nash - "Damn, I should have taken my talents to South Beach."
