atlanta has no need for asik now with hortford and millsap. don't think atlanta would want jennings either when they'll probably match teague's RFA offer. and why would houston want teague in place of lin? teague is just as young, inconsistent, but promising. it's a lateral move.

I really like this idea for all parties but MLW..that OTHER piece would have to be better than Pachulia imo.

For the Rockets this trade would be golden (if LMA and Love are out of reach) because i also think that Ilyasova would be the perfect fit. Unlike a certain Mr.Anderson he also plays decent D and is one of the leading guys in getting charges but also quick enough to guard guys on the perimeter. Teague on the other hand strikes me as a solid guard who doesn't need the spotlights but is able to put up good enough shooting #'s while his a/to ratio is better than Lin's so in the worst case we wouldn't loose a beat.

I would be thrilled if we could make that deal.

Rondo is a straight up distibutor. He can score in a slasher type fashion. Plays good defense as well. does not turn the ball over as much a harden or lin. Is very dangerous when he has a lot of weapons such as what Morey is putting together. Winning cures all attitudes

in my opinion Lin is not leading this team to a title.

Good value and keeping flexibility. Morey hallmarks. I agree.

All right, here's what's up...Portland wants a defensive big, more rebounding and players that aren't gonna take shots (or the spotlight) from Lillard & Batum. Also hopeful but concerned about T-Rob since Hickson left.

HOU trades Asik, T. Jones, P. Beverley and some draft pick or minor player for LaMarcus Aldridge

Remember that Houston can take back 1.5 times the salary shipped out so it doesn't have to match exactly.

The playoff picture is in flux and the champs are vulnerable. Make no mistake, Dwight wants
another star still and the Rockets are going all in to win the title THIS YEAR.

I just posted this in another thread but I'll post it here as well. I would like Al Horford. He can play both PF/C and has a very favorable contract. He wouldn't need extra shots and would fit right in with Dwight since he has a good 15-18 ft jumper. I don't know if he can stretch his range to the corner 3, but he would be a great fit on this team.

Omer/T-Jones (or D-Mo)/Future 1st Considerations for Al Horford

Aldridge and Love would be fantastic additions. But I don't see it happening until/unless they first force their way out of their teams as their contracts end. (Better trade me or I am walking). The key would be for Morey to again keep "roster flexibility" to be able to move on the opportunity.

The Lin/Asik contracts are flexible. They will be moved, but perhaps the next move will just be for "another flexible contract" before the Rockets get in position to make the jump on Aldridge/Love.

Yeah, you are right. Harden, Howard, and Parsons are.

People trash Lin for his 3pt shooting yet want Rondo. Good lord.

    how about Steve Novak?

He would be an ideal stretch 4 for us and cost us less than Ryan Anderson

    Asik for Novak and Shumpert

Novak was traded to Toronto in the deal for Bargnani. And why would we get Novak? We might as well just start Greg Smith at PF if thats the case.

Power Forward by committee is not a bad idea by adding a Mareese Speights, and upping the value of one of them in the early stage of the season.
Then when one of the 2 marquee PF, Aldridge or Love comes in the market, we could package Asik and the most showcased of the three (Speights/Jones/Motiejunas) to make the trade.
But will Dwight be on board with that...

And will Speights accept something like the Room MLE?

Rondo is a trip dub machine esp in the playoffs.

Speights has agreed to sign with GSW.

It's hard to figure out the next moves honestly because the team is in total win now mode yet doesn't want long term crap contracts.

A potential target if Lin is moved might be a guy like Ben Gordon. Lights out from 3, could play next to Harden with Harden running the offense and has an expiring contract. He'd be a really nice fit for the team as it contends this year.

He only makes sense though if Lin gets traded in some other deal.

I don't know how Morey values Rondo so I can't say whether he'd trade for him. He seems like a bad fit to me personally because he can't shoot, but what do I know?

Yeah....I've thought about this one a lot. We'd have to throw in a contract to make it work. And Charlotte is winning that trade outright. However if they threw in Jeff Taylor....that would be a tempting deal.

I've even though about a bigger deal:
Asik and Lin to Charlotte in a taking out the trash deal. Charlotte is supposedly amnestying Ty Thomas to sign Al Jefferson. If that is true...then...Asik + Lin + one non-guaranteed contract (Greg Smith) left over after the Dwight signing would be enough salary to trade for Gordon + Ty Thomas. Now that deal obviously favors Charlotte by a mile so they'd have to give up something to make that deal happen. And that would be....Cody Zeller and Jeff Taylor.

This deal saves Charlotte a bucket load of money by not having to amnesty Ty Thomas. It gets them a front line of Asik and Big Al since there is still room left to give Big Al his deal. And it gives Charlotte a point guard which they currently do not have (Kemba is a shooting guard) and a gate draw in Lin.

The only problem with Charlotte is they are trying to go to the lottery in 2014. How do you get Lin/Walker/MKG/Asik/BigAl to love ball games?? That's 5 guys with motors. LOL They're a playoff team. They're gonna have to get somebody to sabatoge the effort. So, that's a big factor in this deal not going down.

From our angle it looks terrible but it really isn't. First of all, Ty Thomas has 2 seasons left. In 2014 he is a de facto expiring contract that could be used as salary fodder in a much bigger trade. And he could be somewhat rehab-able playing behind Dwight at the 5 in a quick lineup. He can play defense. It's just a matter of his desire. As terrible as he's been..he has absolutely nothing to play for (except pride) in Charlotte.

Secondly Ben Gordon...he can shoot it...and he most likely won't be seeing $13 million again. But he is re-sign-able. And he is sign-and-trade-able. And he could be renounced after next season to create cap space.

And then the reason we do the trade really is ... Cody Zeller and Jeff Taylor. Jeff Taylor on a minimum contract that is controllable for the next 3 seasons. Great contract and he can flat out shoot it AND defend the other end. He'd be a great value. Oh...Cody Zeller...he may be your third star playing at the 4 with this team for the next decade. You stash him at RGV and let him and Canaan flat rip it up down there while you rehab Thomas and make him valuable in a backup role to Dwight.

I would be very interested in a deal like this. Don't know if Charlotte would do it (because it would make them a borderline playoff contender). Don't know if Morey would be willing to give up so much for Zeller and Taylor. But I think enough of Zeller and Taylor that I'd think hard about doing it if the opportunity was there.

I've thought about deals like this as well. Various combinations of deals that include Charlotte sending us back Ben Gordon and a prospect.

As for Charlotte not wanting to make the playoffs, I'm not sure that's true. Jordan is losing a lot of money and has apparently said he wants to take a step forward this year. But, believe it when I see it lol.

I either want a BIG time power forward or a legit shot creating scorer off the bench. If we can't get either, I want to keep Asik.
