Can we quit arguing the semantics of whether the foul was dirty or not?

My main point was that we need more of that, and I think we'd all agree.

This team has been soft inside for quite a while now. Cato's play this year has been a welcome change from that.

Right on! Cato is not Cato when facing Shaq, I mean, mentally.

DaDakota, you hit the nail on its head. In the fourth quarter, I was wondering why not a Yao/Cato and Mo lineup. That would have been a big lineup. I was thinking that Cato could have guarded Shaq on defense and Yao would work against Shaq on offense. Taylor was playing a good game and with Yao and Cato in the game we would have prevented that Shaq dunk from occuring in the fourth, the one where Shaq caught a miss free throw shot and slammed it home. Glen Rice was hot, too so maybe it could have gone both ways. Imagine if we played the Yao/Cato/Mo/Rice/Steve lineup. I would not have mind that, but my problem is that Steve was in foul trouble and, with Moochie struggling, we would have been forced to go with Mobley running the point. Though Mobley brings the ball down the court sometimes, I think he would do better at his current position - off guard because he is more of a scorer than one who would create shots for his teammates.

DJ, in that lineup Kobe would score more easily on Rice than Shaq was doing on Yao.

I guess that's true, but if Glen at least force Bryant into taking outside shots and throw a hand in his face, it would be a lot harder for Kobe.

MoT at the 3? Why not. Last night that meant Fox and I am comfortable with that match up + Cato and Yao. Tonight Bowen? Same thing. At least for 10-15 minutes.

While we're at it, that would enable JPo to play some Point D. That would have greatly affected entry passes to Shaq last night and Duncan tonight.

All this IMHO as the great coach of reasons for Rox.

Great post, DA. I'd love to see us have the new Twin Towers.

You have a point. But still I would let Kobe take his 50% jumpers than Shaq making his 98% dunks.

    Yep....when I suggested it...everyone disliked the idea. :)

But I guess you have perfect timing.

The thing about Cato is he always helps out on defense and attempts to block every shot. He doesn't care...cuz he can get as many fouls as he wants. At least he is aggressive. And at least he tries to grab and rebound every missed shot possible...unlike Yao. :( Yao acts too much.

Tonight would be a great time to put them in together.

    Little,

I have been saying this as well for a while, it seems that the Rocks are too stuck in the numbers game.

Sometimes matchups allow for a large lineup.

Mo, Cato, Yao would have worked against the Lakers.....

Yao and Cato will work against the Spurs...

The player I am most afraid of tonight is Ginobli.

get Yao and Cato on the floor together.
I totally agree with you because I suggested it several times. With Yao and Cato both in the court, guys in outside the paints will shoot easilly,Cato more rebounds,Yao more ponits,How easy the game is!

This is a typical Cato performance on court.

    First Q:
    2:01 Cato checks in
    1:30 Cato def rebound
    00:15 a foul on Cato
    00:00 end of first Q

    Second Q:
    11:03 Cato dunk, assist: Francis
    10:25 Cato defensive rebound
    9:19 Cato was fouled
9:19 Cato missed his first FT
9:19 Cato missed his second FT
    8:09 Cato blocks one shot
    7:20 Yao in Cato out

    Third Q:
    2:20 Cato check in
    1:31 Cato off rebound
    1:03 Cato missed tip-in
    00:53 shooting foul on Cato
    00:53 Cato Technical foul
    00:22 Cato def rebound
    00:00 end of third Q

    Forth Q:
    11:32 Cato def rebound
    10:11 Cato blocks a shoot
9:07 Cato missed a 5 feet jump shot
    8:19 Cato dunk assist: Mobley
    7:01 Cato def rebound
    6:57 Cato turnover -bad pass
    6:32 Cato def rebound
6:01 Yao Check in Cato out

    Cato:16 minutes, 4 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 3 fouls and 1 turnover.

I like his production in limited minutes. But I really don't like two things of him: Technical fouls and missing the free throws. Every points counts because we have lost so many close games.

Why we waste Cato's rebond talent?

By the way my post is not a play-by-play of any game that Cato has played. It is my impression that what Cato did in almost every game.
