The stereotype was very much alive at World War Z tonight. Colorful commentary laced with cultural expletives, every other minute, and even during quiet scenes. Some brave soul told them to be quiet. Various voices shouted back angrily that he would be hurt, that he was homosexual, and that they would not be quiet. Everyone laughed in support. We left after 15 minutes. The manager sympathized when giving us passes for another show. We drove to Edwards Greenway instead. Different crowd altogether. Everyone was well-mannered. Having that audience made the difference seem like night/day (no pun intended).
Meh, it happened to me when I first moved to Galveston. I asked a lady behind me to please be quiet and she told me that I had life messed up and kept yelling at the screen. I left and didn't go to another movie at the Galveston theater that required paying attention to dialogue. It's cultural; no big deal.
Ahhh. You guys forgot what AMC 16 at Meyerpark turned into. I think parking lot pimpin' was invented here.
Nothing is worse then people who think they are entitled. Fools roll up ten minutes after the show starts and tries to get you to move down from your choice middle seats so they can try not sit in the front row.

I went to watch Keven Hart: Let Me Explain yesterday. Majority of the audience consisted of black folk. For this movie however, the atmosphere was appropriate.
AMC Sugar Land does not let anyone under 18 in without an adult after a certain time at night. No matter what movie.
Eventually a theater chain will get the bright idea to sell a yearly membership for the right to exclusive showings, perhaps 500 dollars a year. It will clearly be done in an attempt to clear out some of the trash, and people will complain about it, but it will still be a huge success.
I understand the premise of this thread, because I have been victim to it, but to generalize this by saying this race or that race, sounds somewhat ignorant to me. I would definitely call this more cultural than racial. I think any movie that has an average age under 20 is guaranteed to piss you off with laughing/talking/texting etc. I've gone to theaters that are majority white and some that are majority black, and the experience has been universal. Age is what matters most.....unless you're one of those people that if someone talks you wanna tell them to shut up, in that case you need to STAY OUT OF THE AFRICAN AMERICAN populated theaters! Your life may be at risk!!! These punks now-a-days want to show you how tough they are in front of their friends, and they don't want to risk getting embarrassed, even if it means violence.....
The worst is Pearland Cinema 6. I would rather pay $10.50 at Cinemark or AMC then pay $4.50 for that crap. I have to agree with you about Galveston, and one cannot forget the Texas City theater at Mall of the Mainland.
Just had a horrible experience. Went to see Two Guns. Half way through the previews, this black lady and some guy (who were on a date I think) walk in. It was a matinee so there was only 6 of us in the theater. Unfortunately they sat right behind me. From the moment they got in they started talking loud as ****. Previews are going on and they're just talking about life and how their day is going. Not even attempting to whisper. I was just like "oh lawd this gon be bad." Anyways long story short they kept talking all throughout the entire thing. Matinees in Kingwood are usually bliss as it's just retired old people and the occasional college kid. Worst experience i've had in a long time.
Why didn't you ask them politely to stop talking? In a crowded theater like my post above, your request can be mocked and rejected by the boorish folks. When there are so few of you, when they are sitting close by, they likely will listen to you.
