Sorry guys, can't help but be excited by this realization. Think out of the box. Howard - Harden - Asik is already some form of BIG 3. Just think about the elite production all three can deliver, can definitely get a lot of wins. Even more important is how a dominating Howard - Asik combo can make the difference in a series (playoffs).
I agree, I feel as though Morey is going for home-runs i.e. third star rather than incremental improvements or lateral moves at this stage. I have a feeling a package for Josh Smith centered around Asik & Lin was legitimately discussed with the overall motivation being to eventually trade Josh Smith + picks for LMA, Love or Cousins before Josh Smith ended up signing to Detroit. At this stage I'm skeptical Morey would ever deal Chandler Parsons though unless it was for a true superstar like Kevin Durant, Lebron James or Chris Paul which, of course, won't happen. Any package for LMA or Love will be discussed with any package absent Harden, Dwight & Chandler imo. Parsons is too valuable as a fit on the team now for chemistry, media, salary and in the future with Les' commitment to paying luxury tax and possessing his Bird Right's i.e. he could be the fourth 'star'.
With Asik and Dwight on the court at the same time, we will have an elite defense. As long as our offense can remain in the top 10, we will be championship contenders just by staying put.
Let's first see if Howard - Harden - Asik - Parsons - Lin, et al. can win themselves before we go look for "something we think we need (but actually don't)". Only makes sense not to jump to conclusions with nothing to base a conclusion on. Good thing this organization is not the quick to jump kind. We'll definitely be treated to an Asik - Howard pairing in the frontcourt.
he's worth more than ryan anderson. a 7footer who can ancor a defense, avg a double double in his 3rd year on a bargain contract is high up in there in terms of value. he's only gonna get better
