Today during my weekly visit to USA Foods, I ran into some NFL players who were part of a promotional tour of Australia. So after I bought my share of candy (which until a few years ago only existed on US TV shows....Junior Mints, for example) my friend and I started talking to them. They seemed pretty nice, and even though I know absolutely NOTHING about American Football we had a pretty good conversation. At the end we got their autographs (which at the time seemed like a good idea, but when I got home I started to think 'would my life really have changed that much if I hadn't?'). Anway, who the hell are these players? Christian Okoye and Troy Auzenne. Are these washed up scrubs, or top notch NFL players?? P.S. Is all food in America full of sugar and fat? Or is it just the selection they have in the store?? Check the web page for their products. Oh, and I know that their range does not consist of all the food products on sale in America!
Christian Okoye sounds familiar, though I've never heard of Troy Auzenne. There's a lot of NFL players, but still, I don't think they are current. check that. I'm googling in another window as I'm typing this. I am certain they are not current. Okoye was a star running back for the Kansas City Chiefs in the late 80's early 90's, and Auzenne was a tackle for the Chicago Bears in the early 90's.
all you need to know was christian okoye was a badass on tecmo super bowl (only he fumbled a little too much). man the sweep to the bottom with the blockers in front, can't be stopped short of a first down against another person. i think he's from nigeria.
Yeah, I think his nickname was "The Nigerian Nightmare" -- a play off The Dream's nickname. He was good for the Chiefs for just a couple of years though. Never heard of the other guy.
Those products look like a pantry from the early '70s, but many are still quite popular. Others are being displaced (over time) by healthier products.
Christian Okoye and Barry Word. The best backfield combination in the NFL in the last 20 years. Not too mention they were damn smooth on Tecmo Super Bowl, like others mentioned.
Auzenne played at California, I believe, and Okoye actually played at Azusa Pacific before joining the Chiefs. He was a pro bowler for like 2 seasons, and then one night on MNF, he got lit up by my boy, Steve Atwater. He didn't play too much longer after that hit as I think he became injury-prone like another Nigerian athlete.
Okoye was discovered at the Olympics or some type of track meet. The guy was fast, Olympic speed fast, and he was big. SO the cheifs offered him a job. His only problem he had no concept of "finding a hole" He would always run into the back of his linemen because that was where the hole was supposed to be, but if they did open it up, Look out because as I said before, he was BIG and fast.
I watched Okoye when he was on the Chiefs when he played my Raiders quite often. He was a bruising runner. He would never run around anyone. It was over them or nothing. Thats why he had such a short NFL career. But while he played, he was one of the most powerful backs I have ever seen. Not sure about the other guy.
Okoye was huge and EXTREMELY fast, he was long thought to be on steroids, and then his career was cut short by injuries (which often happens to athletes on steroids). US FOODS- They are a buch of a$$holes who don't pay their bills and that company is in a heap of trouble.
Okoye was an excellent athlete, not a football players, just like Hakeem wasn't a basketball player when he first came. I remember he said his idea of football was something like: "I hold the ball and run as fast as I can while the other guys chase me as fast as they can."
