but Lin is a rookie, as far as last season, you're comparing him to players that have been in the league and been able to prove themselves. we're speaking about a player that we still don't know where he stands. thats why im saying his contract is ridiculous, a player thats rode the bench on 3 teams in the last year, and had a string of good games deserves to get paid as much as proven guards before he's even proven himself? Don't talk basketball knowledge when you overlook so many of the factors that come into play. Truth is we brought him here for marketing more than we did his skill. If Lin was black he wouldn't have been offered a contract nearly of what it is now. No player "Earns" his contract in 8 games. I guarantee you if Lin does poorly if he ends up staying with houston, that Lin won't get the blame, Howard will, followed by coach and harden. they will all be blamed for bringing down his potential because people believe he is incapable of doing poorly.
First all, this is the first playoff that Lin got injured. The one from last season was a pre-existing injury. He played thought it because he might get cut. I am pretty sure he consider going back during the playoff, but look at what has happened to Rose, rushed back for 2 games and then injured again. Now Rose is sit out the whole playoff last year, whole season this year. Who know how long he is still sitting. Of course, by some of the haters here, Rose is garbage as well. Lin did a great job and he is consider just a rookie.
Rose won MVP, Kobe has rings, Westbrook has been to the finals. These guys have shown there worth. Lin has shown promise, but comparing him to these other guys is ridiculous.
No, Lin is going to regress heavily I feel. Frankly he really hasn't shown any potential during his short career, his jumper will be shiit for the rest of his career because hey, jumpshots never improve with time right, does he even dribble drill doe? /s
That's fine. Lin should stay. He can play much better next season and ome teams will take him. This season, Rokets devalued his skills and damaged his stats. That's the price you paid. Give Lin one year.
Lin has great potentials. He will become a star. Rockets should give him more chance. He deserves it.
I'm comparing him to ALL starting pgs who aren't in their rookie contracts, since those are the only ones you can reasonably and logically compare him too. Your logic is so faulty that I had to reread it to see if I understood. You wrote "a player thats rode the bench on 3 teams in the last year, and had a string of good games deserves to get paid as much as proven guards before he's even proven himself?" No, a young player who has put up stats similar or better than other starting pgs who are making around the same as him has "earned" the money from his contract and so isn't a ridiculous contract. If you made the statement before last season, then it's a different discussion. But, at this point, you just sound ignorant. Alright, let's have the other discussion then. The one about getting a contract for potential. Again, I have to point out your lack of basketball knowledge. Asik got the same contract as Lin, after a season where he averaged 3.1 points and 5.3 rebounds. By your definition, that's a ridiculous contract. With Lin, in 35 games he averaged 14.6 points and 6.2 assists and was a top 10 pg in PER ( BTW, I think per is a useless stat for the most part, but top 10 sounds impressive even if I don't think it actually is.). Here is the thing, young players get contracts on their potential. That's just a fact which you don't seem to understand. George hill got a 8 mil a year contract after a season where he averaged 9.6 points and 2.9 assists. You seem to like to state your opinions and have them believed as facts. But, unless you can actually put up stats or fact to back up your words, you have very little credibility.
We have Dwight Howard, James Harden, and Chandler Parsons on this team and you guys are talking about Jeremy ****ing Lin? Unbelievable. As long as Lin brings the ball up the court, hits open shots, and plays good defense I couldn't care any less about him.
lol you seriously believe what Bill Ingram tweets , he's not even a "Rockets" guy , in fact he probably hates the Rockets
On the current Rockets squad, Lin will be a 4th option behind Harden, Howard, and Parsons. Keep that in mind before projecting his PPG for the upcoming season. He will most likely not score more than 15 points, if even that. However, his assists should go up.
If Lin is still here, he doesn't need to score a lot. That's not his job. Majority of the points will come from Harden, Howard and Parson. Lin will focus on distributing the ball with Harden and Howard.
For all you PER lovers and LOHs, if Lin takes 10 or less shots per game (which is probable given the multitude of other scoring options), please do rag on him cause her PER sucks, or his scoring average blows...in the last 2 years, only 2 starting guards (that play 30min or more a game) have had a PER above 15...Nash and Calderon...so please, keep that in mind.
Na, that's not my priority. It is: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=8074450&postcount=448 I'm not sure what Tinman did, but I'm quite sure he didn't have to deal with "the Hate", the 'cruel' Lin trolls and the 'tragic' Lin hate. Are you sure those vicious bullies deserve your pity when given a taste of their own medicine? I must say I believe that I'm cheeky and fun the vast majority of times.
Unfortunately my comment was factually correct while yours is not; and so far it has been the case the vast majority of the times. Um......so that means you post some incorrect crap and I'd have to keep hearing from you......sigh......come on...... Quit the hate, get a life, Clutchfans not Clutchtrolls, Linfans part of it; Lintrolls, not quite. Stop bugging me you annoying POS.
Lin will benefit playing with D12. Look at those Smith and Lin combo where Smith actually catches those passes. Lin also have a money midrange jumper too. I just cannot wait for next season. There's just so much offensive threat I don't even know how they will defend us.
