Are you seriously blaming players for injuries? Is it 3 injuries and your out or just if you're unfortunate enough to get 3 injuries in the playoffs? I hope you're joking.
How many millions they paid Kobe this year? Did he play in the playoff or help the team in the playoff?
We should all hope that. That would mean our team would be better. And for people that still dislike him, makes him more attractive in trades.
Jeremy will be a better player next year. History has shown that every young player who has a good work ethic and a drive to improve, will get better (barring injury). How much he improves is the real question. I think too many people are focusing on improved 3 point shooting. The thing is, he just has to maintain what he did in the last 3 months as opposed to improving on it to be considered a good 3 point shooter ( In the last 3 months he shot almost 40%. I feel 37% for the next season is a good floor to aim for) What, I feel he needs to improve most on is his cutting to the basket ability when he doesn't have the ball (specifically when to cut and being more explosive on them. If you watched last season, he didn't get any kind of separation). He would get a couple of easy baskets a game while putting more pressure on the defense, especially now with 2 players who will demand so much attention on the offensive side. I'm sure he is working on his strength and explosiveness since he did say that was one of his target areas to improve this offseason. He seemed to be bothered more by contact on his drives and screens last year than the previous year. I don't think setting specific numbers for his assist and turnovers are that important to judging his decision making. The biggest indicator of his improvement will be the assist/turnover ratio. Lol, to answer the OP's question, I think next year will be his most consistent season. He will get more assists and less turnovers with Howard on the team (I really like Omer, but I think he eats too many pancakes since it seems like butter is oozing out of his hands). His fg% will be up which will help him score a little more than last year. His defense will be better also, now that he will have more time to get use to his teammates and have a full off season to work on strength and explosiveness.
If any key rotation or star player on any team (not just Jeremy Lin) is "unfortunate" enough to be injured and worthless 3 consecutive playoffs, time to get rid of 'em and let another franchise experience the misfortune. I'm just saying now what everyone will be discussing come playoff time. You wait and see. When so many here were piling on and burying Lin because of how he played against OKC, I did not because he was hurt. Next year, he needs to deliver the goods.
Beverly is playing on an undrafted rookie contract. The rockets took a gamble on him and turned out to be one of the best bargains for the Rockets. I'm sure his next contract will be $5 million or more a year. Lin's contract when he was with New York was only around $1 million for a year. It was a bargain then for New York but now he's drastically overpaid from a performance standpoint. Maybe not from a business standpoint since we don't know how much China money he brings to the team.
based on what logic? that he is cursed and will be injured every postseason?or that he is faking his injuries?
Actually, even SAS doesn't think his contract is unreasonable. He actually thinks it is reasonable given this financial climate. And this is one of Lin's biggest haters...
Based on what logic? If it happens three years in-a-row, that would be called a pattern. I have no idea why being "cursed" or the notion of Lin faking his injuries comes into the conversation. Has someone claimed that?
So, you're telling me that if Lin plays great during 82 regular season games next year, and then gets elbowed in the eye socket or Beverly-ed to the knee, and misses the playoffs, that we should just dump him?
