I'm counting floor fouls as ISO successes from now on. I'll try to go back and update the old stats appropriately.

    The stats:

    Rocket ISOs: 10/26

    Francis: 4/8
    Mo layup 9:06 1
swung around for Mo jumper 8:30 1
2 Mo shakes(?) someone missed the shot 3:25 1
    driving layup 1:40 1
    turnover 0:05 1*
    turnover (no doubleteam) 9:34 2
    wizard(?) made 3 1:55 4**
someone missed the shot 1:15 4***

*should have been the last play of the 1st Q. Francis got doubleteamed, didn't pass out of it, and turned over.
** swung around the horn for an open three. pretty sure it was wizard, maybe shandon?
*** Kenny dropped a swing pass, we scrambled for a missed shot

    Mobley: 3/8
    missed layup 10:35 2
    missed jumper 7:30 2
    missed jumper 5:10 2
    mobley shooting foul ?:?? 2*
    missed turnaround 0:50 2**
    Francis made layup 2:50 3
    Cat floor fouled 0:04 3***
    Francis travelled 2:53 4****

*I missed this one, but my buddy swears he saw it
**Mobley started out isolated in almost a low post position; haven't seen many 2 shake post-ups before
***Mobley took the doubleteam baseline and got fouled on the floor
****swung to Stevie who got called for travelling

    Taylor: 2/8
    missed layup 11:40 1*
    missed jumper 6:50 1**
    made jumper 2:27 2
    missed jumper 1:47 2**
    carry violation 1:20 2**
    illegal defense 11:30 3
    missed jumper 7:00 3**
    carry violation 1:35 3**

*little 2 man game with Shandon, then Shandon cleared out leaving Mo ISOed. Mo had a great look at a layup but missed it.
**a "pure" Mo ISO. We had no other movement, no other options, these plays are nothing but MoTay ISOs all the way. (some of the other ISOs may have started by trying something else, then using the ISO safety net)

    Moochie: 1/2
    Bull missed jumper 6:20 2
    Cat shooting foul 5:40 2

I started trying to count how man ISOs the Grizzlies had last night too. I counted 14 Grizz plays that I would count as ISOs. So we ran twice as many ISOs as the Grizzlies.

*whew* its getting hard to make these write-ups. Its also hard to keep writing all this stuff down during the games. It's easier for coaches. They KNOW what play they called and just have to write down the result. I have to figure out if it is a play, what play it is, and what happened. *whew*

I was surprised. Counting the floor fouls as successes really helped the ISO success rates.

I went back and edited all my old stats to count floor fouls as successes. Here are the URLs:
    vs Milwau 11/3 8/15 53%
    at Clips 11/4 2/18 11%
    at Suns 11/5 7/15 46.7%
    vs Lakers 11/7 11/25 44%
    vs Grizzlies 11/9 10/26 38.4%
(the Clips and Suns stats are both in the same "2/18 on ISOs?!?" thread)

Makes the ISO look a lot better.

I'll try to post totals for players...

jamcracker, I really appreciate all the work you've put into this. Please keep it up!

It was my understanding that Rudy always factored shooting fouls into the success rate- what made you change your mind?

Jam, you are doing a great job. I can use this stuff as firepower against the haters. It would be nice to see a summary of just those in the 4th quarter since this is probably when it is most used. I know you have the quarter listed for each ISO for each player but I am lazy.

Keep up the good work. Do you tape the games? I tape every game so if you ever need a follow up let me know.

Oh and by the way the Vancouver game should show 38.4 %.

I changed my mind about floor fouls. I've always counted shooting fouls as successes. Previously, a floor foul (before the bonus) counted as a reset (didn't count as a success or a failure). Now floor fouls count as successses no matter if you're shooting the bonus free throws or just getting the ball out of bounds.
