Unless we come out and light the world on fire, gonna be tough to get past SA, OKC, LAC, MEM and even GS if they shoot lights out. That being said, I say WCF where if we lose, I hope it's to the Spurs. Much easier to tip your cap to them.
The Lakers that year had even less time to jell, as Pau Gasol was traded to the Lakers and they lost Andrew Bynum halfway throughout the season. This season is our jelling year, so I don't expect us to go too far in the playoffs. Next season, I do expect great things from the team.
2nd round - Achievable Goal WCF - Great goal Finals - j*zz I will be happy with going to the 2nd round and depending on who we face I will go on from there
I'm curious about the number of wins we will have. Greater talent will mean more wins, but shooting lots of threes increases variance. That may actually work against us in the sense of putting a ceiling on total number of wins for the season. But if we get into the top four, we should make it to the wcf at least.
71-11 & a Finals Win ..... Surpassing the Bulls 70-12 record just to shut the haters up. Realistically , 60 wins and a WCF appearance.
The key is good health. Look what happened to the Lakers last year when you have good new players but don't have good health. 60 wins? Maybe. If we have good health throughout the season, so players can get comfortable with the Rocket's system and rotations, the team could make a lot of noise in the playoffs. But with a key new addition and younger players in general, the team needs time to jell. That's why you can't just get healthy for the playoffs, like, say, the Spurs might. With a young team, you're doing more during the regular season than just fighting for playoff seeding.
IDK if we will have any dynamic offensive players coming off like a Jason Terry or a Manu Ginobili or but we do have some serious depth on the bench. Cisco has really proven he is a terrific player capable of giving a team an incredible boost on both ends of the floor. Beverley has shown that he can have a serious impact on a game coming off of the bench and we all know what Asik can do. If we could just get a player that was an aggressive scorer coming off of the bench I think we would be set.
Clutchfans are like high school girls. I don't need a boyfriend, as you fall head over heels I'm love with every guy.
I'd be surprised if we go into the season with this roster. I expect at least one more FA signing and I expect Asik to be traded before the season starts as well. As of now I'll say WCF. Depending on what moves are made that will probably change.
Guys do you remember how we sold Howard on our project? We said we provide the best chance to win NOW! A greatly excited Morey will do anything to assemble a team capable of winning it all starting THIS year. So for me, finals or bust !!!
The team without Howard had a pretty good record against good teams for the past few seasons. They so-called "overacheived". Now they have a blueprint of what to expect from each team. No reason not to believe that adding the best center in the league may propel them into the finals.
I believe this team will stay in tact for this year and then Morey will unload Lin and Asik to seperate teams clearing enough room to go after one of the big free agents.
It doesn't make sense to have a target of only 2nd round. Last year's team already made the playoffs without dh, so this year we should definitely gun for wcf title.
Yes. Possible, but harder as time goes on due to the poison pill structure of their contracts. I know it's only an 8.3m cap hit but the 15m balloon payment means only big city teams like LA, NY, Chicago can afford them which limits their tradability.
Im sorry but OKC is done. Westbrook coming back means nothing. For as good as he is they only made the finals because HARDEN took the ball from him and played point.
