Let's just keep Asik and our defense will always be stout around the rim. No more runs by the other teams second unit. Seems much too valuable to give up for a stretch 4 IMO.
LOL at comments that Rox MUST include Parsons in the deal for Anderson. GMAMFB. see comments> http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/7/5/4497484/nba-trade-rumors-2013-omer-asik-ryan-anderson
They got a bigger hole to fill at the C position. They got Drue Holliday for Noel which I felt was actually a pretty good trade considering Holliday is a very good player and Noel is an unknown. Asik Unibrow Gordon Holliday ? Is a playoff caliber lineup. Anderson isnt used effectively for Nola like he was with Orlando.
Pretty sure Gordon is that and certainly adding Jrue and Tyreke isn't going to leave many shots for Anderson who actually came off the bench most of the season. Asik for Anderson makes a ton of sense for both teams. The thing is, Asik is more valuable than Anderson I think. Centers who defend like that are like gold. I don't know that stretch fours have the same value.
We need a huge upgrade at PF. Another shooter around Dwight is also a plus. Build around the big fella and let him take us to the finals.
Not sure how this isn't the most talked about potential deal...this would be the best scenario of realistically available PF's. Now if you want to roll into the season with Asik and Howard and see if that has any chance of succeeding...and possibly dealing at the deadline....fine. But Ryan Anderson would, by far, the best fit for this team - as far as potential deals that have been "discussed"
Asik's stock is @ all-time high right now. I hope Morey doesn't trade him for cheap. Asik to Minnesota for Kevin Love or bust. He's an upgrade over Pekovic defensively.
