You lost me with the 'let's trade a 7-footer who runs like a gazelle' part of your plan. Motie is untouchable, as far as I'm concerned. We need to keep young talent around and keep our future bright, while we're winning Championships these next few years with DH and Harden.
He'll have two defenders on each side of him. Plus, his offense and rebounding out trump the no defense.
The gazelle like running 7 footer you speak of does not want to be a back-up. I don't blame him. Everyone can see that having two starting centers can work, but really isn't a good idea. This trade is perfect for both teams. They could use a starting center and we want(don't need) a starting 4.
Sorry this is a dumb idea, not only because lee is very bad, but because GS has bogut. Who they aren't giving away for 'nothing.' Also you misunderstood what the above poster meant by GS being better with lee on the bench.
David Lee is ACTUALLY terrible. Last guy Morey would want. Huge contract, an absolute SINKHOLE on defense. Clips of his terrible defense were shown and laughed at during the MIT conference IIRC. Seen as very example of someone who fills up the "stat sheet" but actually stinks defensively.
