So many Morey haters should be eating crow. I can honestly say I've been a supporter from the beginning. The man is just THAT good!

Good find, I've been thinking about doing something like this for a while now. It's a great breakdown of how much DM has created out of so little. I really like how they link Harden and Parsons to Howard, even though they weren't used to "trade" for Howard, they were used to bring him here.
What Morey was able to do is extremely difficult, especially in the NBA. What he has done, very other few GM's could possibly hope to do on paper. That being said, like he said, they haven't accomplished anything yet. On paper, they look great... so did the Yao/T-mac teams. Health, luck, and under the radar roster moves are what it takes to succeed in this league. Morey could probably do just as well, if not better/faster with higher draft picks... the fact that he doesn't need those to get two superstars is more a credit to him rather than it being the "right" way. But again... nothing is a certain till they're playing into early June.
We've been frontrow witnesses to his magic since 2009 when TMac and Yao finally went down. The relentless pursuit of assets and better assets that had coach Adelman throw up his hands ... Best illustrated by last year's frenetic offseason when Morey made 13 deals involving 31 players and 4 draft picks--to get rid of our old core of players to make room for youth and surprise, surprise Harden (I'm still looking for an article that listed down all 13 deals and 31 players, but for now this SI excerpt will do) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1206495/ LAST SUMMER Morey made another big bet. Only this time he risked far more, and the stakes were incalculably higher. He dismantled a young Houston team that came within two wins of a playoff spot, making 13 moves involving 31 players and four draft picks. By the time he was done, only one Houston rotation player, second-year small forward Chandler Parsons, remained.
