How does the waiver clearing process work? Any chance we can get Delfino, Garcia, Brooks back?

With Dwight Howard coming on board, their 3-point-shooting skills would be perfect. But I don't know how it works. Can any other team claim them off waivers or something and only if that doesn't happen, we can re-sign them?

if they clear waivers we can sign them as free agents, to whatever money we have available.

I was pretty amazed at how well Aaron brooks played. If Lin gets traded he would be great off the bench in my opinion.

Oh yes. So I guess that means after we sign Dwight, we can try to sign them back on with whatever money we have? No waiting period required?

The one I would want back the most is Delfino - but also Garcia. Brooks as well, for the vet minimum or whatever.

Brooks showed great glimpses of his previous self during hte playoffs. With all their dead on 3 pt shooting it would be the perfect team. I already came like twice tonight, so I might be asking for too much in this scenario.

Nope. I would take last year's team plus Howard and go to war.

    But let's see what happens.

I think Aleron mentioned in the salary cap thread that Delfino is rumored to go to OKC?

    Can anyone confirm?

We can only offer the Room Exception for 2.6m (max 2 years). Garcia was set to make 6.5m this year but I think no one will pick him up for that. He also expressed a desire to come back. Hope it does because he's the perfect fit for this team.

I want Francisco back, he played with so much passion and intensity I loved it. Delfino can play multiple positions and can hit jumpers for days so I think Morey told them not to answer and call that didn't have a Houston area code. As for Brooks, I expect him to sign with the Knicks this week

I think this is right. So its just a matter of whether what we have to offer is enough to get them back. Unfortunately, it looks like they would have to play at a discount to come here. We'll see.

I would think Garcia would be our first priority. Delfino maybe is he come cheap. Afraid AB is gone for good with Canaan onboard.

We need wing depth, so Garcia and/or Delfino would fill a bigger need for us than Brooks (unless there are more trades coming.)

Out of the two I would rather Garcia, but mainly because I am unsure of how much Delfino's foot injury will affect him going into next season.

I want all three back, but with Canaan it seems unlikely Brooks will be. The other two would be excellent. Not much money tho.

-Delfino might be a health liability to be productive the first half of the season with his offseason surgery. Not sure Id jump at the first chance to sign him, but definitely make a call to his agent to let them know they are interested in bringing him back after the dust settles if they could wait.

-Same with Garcia, but after all other major moves are made (like moving Asik and/or bringing back another player to contribute like Josh Smith, etc.) I think he would be the first veteran I would call before Delfino.

-Brooks really doesn't have a great fit on this team anymore unless Lin is moving along. I really think the fans are going to love Canaan, and he's going to become a fan favorite (might have COF'ers starting threads about how he should start over Lin in a few months).

-Corey Brewer is a player that has been talked about alot too as someone they would have interest in brining in on a small salary and he's still available.

Corey Brewer is a really good addition, I just don't think we realistically have a shot at him.

Garcia > Delfino >> Brooks in that order of who I'd want to come back

I'm with ATW in that I'd to see most of last year's team come back. Just to have SOME darn CONTINUITY for once. I don't want to see Patterson-Asik-Lin-Delfino-Garcia-Brooks-Robinson ALL GONE (even though they're at best they're 4th best player on team and expendable.) But with Dwight its definitely a New NEW Age.

    - Canaan basically replaces Brooks, having both of them would be redundant so don't look for Brooks to come back. At least he came and "kissed and made up".

    - Rockets have 3 unofficial roster spots open. There's 5 possible spots after all trades are completed, and if they waive Ohlbrecht and James Anderson.

    - WITHOUT knowing the cap figure and deals later, that would definitely be room for Delfino and Garcia at least. Harden and Parsons definitely need the backup help. There's some interesting free agent names, but since they know the system and did well they're as good an option as anyone IMO.

...With that said, I'd love Delfino back.
