The Celtics owner once said that KG was a 5 year plan in motion. it doesn't make me wonder, it was obvious from the beginning. However we failed last year, then Presti returned our soul from purgatory.
Kevin McHale can stay as long as we win. Can imagine a very different offensive system in Houston this year with the acquisition of Dwight. Defense needs massive improvement and turnovers must be contained if Rockets want to be real contenders.
I think he will improve, but it won't be pretty. He needs to improve his free throws too. I am concerned that he doesn't push himself. At least he is keen on getting better, which is an encouraging sign.
I don't see an issue with this. Harden is like 24 and has only spent 1 year under the spotlight of a being a superstar. Dwight is 27 and has been the league a lot longer than Harden since he came straight out of HS. Dwight is the vet here. I would think Harden has no problem letting him lead.
So do we finally have the old Carl back? Most of us doubted him, but I am glad we got him. He proved everyone wrong and I think we gave too much credit to Harden. We finally got a center (Asik), and a star led by McHale. Good job, Morey. I do recall going out of my way to defend him all season, but I had my doubts about the Rockets when they signed him over Adelman.
I hated Mchale as a coach, but he's was one of the greatest power forwards of all time in the 80s. One of the few white American NBA players that schooled Hakeem Olajuwon in the post.
Guys remember harden for here like a week b5 the season started li guarantee you the offense will be how do I put this? More diverse??? Next year
Major draw my ass, it is called common sense. Mchale: "DW, despite you may come, I will ISO Harden to no end like I did last season!" Mahale:" DW, I will make you free to do anything on court like a King! After all my job is at your mercy!"
Translation: Coach said I am the leader of this team so he is holding me for it. Harden, it is my team and my turf now, you are going to feed me the ball rather than play ur iso ball.
Thanks for the quote. I was up and down on Mchale all year but never to the extreme one way or another. During the playoffs I really liked Mchales attitude and his outlook and I think he can do a good job in Houston. I'm happy for him also because I remember when he left TNT, Kenny and Charles said they were happy for him because he got the coaching job but laughed and said something in regards to him taking on a sinking ship. I'm sure Mchale is laughing now.
