Josh Smith. We need an elite wing defender that can guard Durant/Lebron.

Tough call, Josh Smith is better on the break and on D, but doesn't fit if the goal is to surround Dwight with shooters. He is also more expensive.

If we get Corey Brewer, then Ryan Anderson. If we don't, then Smith.

J Smith is definitely better, but he will cost more in cap space too. Considering Anderson's proven on-court chemistry with Howard and lower price tag, he seems like a good fit.

I think we're going to revamp our offense during training camp. We finally have a low post threat that's consistent and demands respect. Going with Ryan Anderson would have made more sense if we stuck to our previous line up, but since we're throwing out the whole farm, why not Josh Smith? We do it when we're drafting so why not with All-Star FA?

If you combine Smith and Andersen you get LaMarcus Aldridge. We should get that guy! ;)

I don't know why the team would want to be locked in with all these big long term contracts. Remember we still have to resign Chandler soon. I'd take Ryan Anderson anyday. He's a hustle player who can shoot and is not afraid to mix it up in the paint as well. He's very underrated and best of all he comes cheap.

You always get the player that is more rare. Lots of 4s can do what anderson does. Josh Smith is a very unique player... a tweener offensively in a good way where he is too quick for pfs and too strong/good in the post for sf. His uniqueness is that he can defend the 3/4 spots well. Not a great shooter but I think we can take the long range twos out of hos game and improve effeciency.

We know how much we need to pay Anderson so it depends on how much Smith costs.

Like what you saying. Josh's skill set is very unique and not many big men with his size has his handling skills. If you watch his highlight, you can see he is very involved in non pick and roll situation many times. He either be the man left open or the one cutting to the lane.

I think he will jell well with Howard, very well. If he can shot those open 3s coming to him, he can be a really good fit.

Ryan Anderson a better player offensively.
Plus he would fill in for Delfino in terms of shooting 3-pointers.

    Defensively, Josh Smith is better.
But I don't think he's worth what we're about to offer him.

So I Think Ryan Anderson is a better fit.

I'd really be happy with either one. I REALLY like our options after getting Dwight. :)

why get anderson when we can play chandler at the 4 and get the same production? 3's & rebounding, but chandler has a better all around game. at least smith is an elite defender with an all around game.

You can find a good 3pt shooter just about whenever you want.

You CANNOT find one of the league's best defenders, who is super athletic, can rebound, can pass and also has some range of his own on his shot.

Sorry i like Anderson but Smith blows him out.

The question anyone who chooses Anderson has to ask themselves is "Who will he guard when we play the Heat?".

If we're talking about fit, it's got to be Anderson...given how Morey wants the team to play, I think he'd rather have Anderson...unless we bring back Delfino and Garcia, we are seriously lacking deep threats...Morey tried to turn Morris and Ppat into stretch 4's, why not just get a stretch 4?

I understand the logic of getting the best player, but unless the rockets change their offensive philosophy, one that was highly successful last season, it's got to be Anderson. Although I'd still rather see the Howard/Asik combo that Morey talked about. I got faith that Jones or D-Mo will become solid players.

I would take Smith for defensive reasons. Anderson is a liability on the defensive end. Offensively, we have enough firepower, and I wouldn't be too worried Smith try to do too much. It's not going to happen as he wouldn't be a top dog on the team, so he will play controlled.

Smith in a heartbeat for me.

We shoulda signed Paul Milsap when we had the chance. A PF who actually plays like a Power Forward.

I think that anyone would be crazy to say they would rather have Anderson over Smith. Smith brings way more to the table than Anderson.

When Smith is off he totally wrecks the offense. Its like a train-wreck. Whenever we play the Hawks I pray he keeps shooting because the guy can't shoot to save his life on some nights.

I would like Smith if we had a different team.
