I initially thought Anderson would be a better fit with Howard, but after looking at Smith's stats, I would definitely choose Josh Smith. The first thing that stood out was how Smith consistently filled the stat sheet. In one game against Charlotte where he scored 30 points, he also had 13 boards, 8 assists & 3 blocks. Another game where he scored 31 point, he had 10 boards, 6 assists, 2 steals & 2 blocks. There were 16 games last season where he had 3 or more blocks in a game, including 5 games where he blocked 5 shots & 1 game with 6 blocked shots. Anderson is a great shooting stretch 4, but Smith does a lot more to make his team better, including being a much better defensive player. McHale also wants that inside presence, much like his Celtic teams he played on in the past. One knock on Smith was his free throw shooting, a dismal 51% last season, but he has had several seasons where he shot over 70%.

Actually, Smith has never been an All Star. Asik is worth more than Anderson, however.

I voted Anderson but both are really appealing. The defense Smith could play on Durant and LBJ in the playoffs/finals could be invaluable. I also happen to think that a shooter like Anderson could be invaluable to. Hard to tell who would help us more. Both are appealing, but Josh could easily shoot us out of a game which is sometimes his tendencies. Anderson is not near the defender but helps more offensively.

JSmoove and it's not even close. If the Rockets want a 3 pt specialist that can occasionally do other things, Gary Neal, Delfino, and a few others are available. Anderson is unathletic, poor defensively, and overpaid. Josh Smith is elite defensively and gives you way more on offense than Anderson does on defense.

    Damn

Going with Anderson. Smith is obviously a better player but with Anderson we can stretch the floor better than any team in the NBA. Could you imagine Harden pick & roll with Howard with Parsons and Anderson in the corners? Thats INSANE

After thinking about it, Josh Smith, because he can be so disruptive.

    Josh Smith.

At least when he is not taking ill-advised shots he is giving you plenty of other things.

    Rebounding. Shot blocking. Steals. Athleticism.

Defense and Rebounding wins rings...we'll get enough offense from Howard, Harden, Parsons, and unnamed PG

Both if Atlanta signed Milsap the Horford is staying at center.

    Asik for Anderson
    Lin for Smith

    C'mon Morey!

Exactly. I'm sure Morey has a better idea of who fits the best than I do.

Anderson is a better fit. I just don't like the chucker mentality I see with Smith joining this team. He's pretty mentally weak.
