I'm not sold on Anderson. He adds shooting, but what else does he add? Finishing at the rim, PnRolling ability, passing? Anybody know how good he is at those? Plus, his team defense is nothing to write home about.
Anderson wont be viewed as a "big 3" type of splash, but as you saw with Miami's big 3 the first year they were together(and the diminished roles of 2 of their stars), getting the right fit can lead to more productive results for your star players. Ryan Anderson is miles closer to being the better fit with a team that relies so heavily on spacing the floor and knocking down 3's. My only concern is the defensive end where Anderson does struggle. Dwight will have to continue to be a dominant force on the defensive end for this team to really be a top defensive team. On the offensive end.... Yeah.....
Hes a great shooter and ok rebounder that's about it...other than that nothing else...u can find shooting anywhere
I feel sorry for asik, if this trade is true.. hmmm bythe way is this twitter belong to Omer ? if yes, hmm truly sorry <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>The only way this day could get any worse would be getting traded to the bobcats. <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23BrightSide&src=hash">#BrightSide</a></p>— Omer Asik (@the_omer_asik) <a href="https://twitter.com/the_omer_asik/statuses/353293707920949248">July 5, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Dmo is Dmo lite. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'm not crazy about the options, but I think I'd have to go with Smith. Defensive toughness is at a premium in the playoffs. Can't see Anderson being more than a 4th to 5th piece on a contender. I'll be interested to see if the other DMo (Morey) agrees or not.
Somehow I doubt it no one on the Rockets would call the day Dwight committed to the team a bad day..how many followers?
Look, I know that stats can't tell you everything, even all-inclusive stats like PER and WS/48 (because they don't adequately account for defense in particular). But look at Anderson's stats. They are good when he plays without Howard and great when he plays with him. He had back-to-back 200-plus ws/48 in Orlando. I think he's a perfect fit on offense, and he's a pretty good rebounder. Obviously, he is no Josh Smith on the defensive end, but I still think this trade makes a lot of sense. With Howard, Anderson, Parsons, Harden and Lin, I think the Rockets will probably have the best offense in the league. i was just thinking of ryan anderson just because of the way houston is gonna play now..then i see it may become real..however id love to trade Lin for anderson/smith/ rather than asik..i really like asiks game and wish we could keep him somehow but he is unhappy now iv heard..i like andersons shooting but j smith has more tools..either one would be good.
