When you can drag the likes of Tim Duncan, Zach Randolph, Pau Gasol and every other PF out to the 3 point line that is a LOT of operating room for everyone else involved.
How do we play the TWIN TOWERS if Asik is gone? I think the Anderson trade is unlikely unless Asik really wants out and J.Smith wants max money.

I'd hate to be one of those teams that just sit on the perimeter waiting for the ball. It would be nice if our shooters can put the ball on the floor & break down a defense without having to rely on a Dwight Howard double team.
Anderson isn't a bad defender. Not as good as Smith obviously, but not a liability like some of you are saying. Great offensive rebounder despite his "poor" rebounding average. He is basically on par with Scola as a rebounder. Obviously much better free throw shooter, and the salary cap would have a lot more flexibility unless Josh Smith agrees to a contract way below what is expected. Of course if both Smith and Anderson were making the same money I would take Smith, but if Smith asks for as much as two times more? Here is a nice write up from 2012 when he was with Orlando: http://www.magicbasketball.net/2012/04/18/ryan-anderson-and-offensive-rebounds/
This question is irrelevant considering the more expensive alternative can barely hit anything outside of 17 feet.
Gotta be a S&T though. Asik alone won't work for Smith. Still gotta find another 3M to throw in. Asik and Anderson pretty much works 1 for 1 since Asik counts as 8.3M against the cap and Anderson makes 8.some.
