The only reason we have Harden and Dwight is because the Dwight trade fell through during draft. If the Kitties didn't draft MKG, we would probably be crying that DH12 was leaving right now and Harden would be playing somewhere else. Now we are one of the top 4 teams in the league.
There is a little bit of luck in some things but you have to give credit to where it is due and that is DM, this just didn't all luck itself together.

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. Daryl Morey prepared, made lots of moves, loaded up on assets, and maintained lots of cap space. Then when the opportunity arose he pulled the trigger. Call it luck if you will, but luck favors the prepared.
Me too. I'm just saying luck as a big influence on these things. OKC could have easily been dealing with an center with 80 year old knees right now instead of having the second best player in the league.
The real reason this happened is because of David Stern and his "basketball reasons" veto of the Gasol trade. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. We prepared for this a LOT. But a little luck never hurts.
Ironically, there are some trolls lurking under the CF bridge, that still cry about Stern "robbing us" in that busted trade. They are very well hidden though.
It was both luck and hard work. Rockets were lucky to have opportunities open up. But it was hard work that allowed the Rockets to be in position to make things happen and then get it done.
