    I love watching NBA basketball......the whole game!

    Isn't there a tendency for game recaps to focus only on the 4th Q? Many fans don't watch the 1st Q: ordering that pizza, putting the kids down, waiting for the parents to go to sleep, finishing homework, or are simply bored unless Mobley is in the game...lol.

    Makes me wonder. For a change of pace, try recapping the Rockets 1st quarters. Do you see a different offense?

    Personally, I see most our new plays run in the 1st quarter/3rd quarter, when Mobley is out, as if Rudy has two attacks. What do you see when Mobley is on the bench?!

    It does seem like two games. We actually run some motion plays every once in a while when Cat it not in there. When the 4th Qtr comes around it is ISO after ISO.

    The best way I can put it : before Mobley there is slightly more motion, the ball moves around more....
    Mobley='s ISO's like a mug ! [IMG]

    I can't agree more, 3pointer!

    When Mobley's in the game, it is live or die. The Rox live if Mobe turns his ISO into either scoring or passing to the open man. If he doesn't, it is an unofficial 90% chance of turnovers or a bunch of bad shots.

    Hurts the momentum! [IMG]

    It was right that Mobe got the Rox close in the 4th in the 3 losses. But it was also Mobe who either turned the ball over or had bad shot selection.

    I am not anti-ISO. But can we in any way reduce the number of it? We've got some big men inside (especially Mo Taylor). We need to get them involved.

    yup...see Rocketability. hard to describe the Rockets when Mobley is not playing.

    Here's what Rudy said last night, "I thought we got into playing ... well, the option is not opening up so I think I'll just shoot it."

    To me, that is the most revealing fact to date that Rudy wants a different offense, but, he can't go out there and execute it for us. When Mobley plays in the 2nd Q, Rudy wants him to spell the starters and run some simple ISO. When he is not in, it is an entire different game plan. IMO, we just can't execute it consistantly.

    So, anyone else want to help Rocketability remember what we look like when Mobley is NOT in the game.

    you love watching NBA as much as I do. Watch the 1st quarter closely the next 3 games, and tell me how different it looks than what we think of as the 4th quarter. "Slightly more motion" is slighty noncommittal coming from the guy who talked until 3am with me about basketball in Kinneally's parking lot after the Barkley/Vancouver game. I want something more!! How about after Saturday's Suns tell me what you think happened this upcoming week. Watch the Suns closely, and you will see some motion. That is not what we do. But I think we are slowly snapping in the pieces, especially in the first quarter.

    Our team just doesn't have the great Kidd's patience to run multiple options...and that leads me back to Rudy's quote. One thing is for sure, we are definitely not playing Payton low-post Barkley ball, and I love that.
