    HeyPartner & Jambiscuit,

Just been watching the 1995 Finals series v Magic. I have watch games 1 & 2 so far and half way thru game 3 at the moment and i have noticed quite a few ISOs for Cassell and Drexler, which seem to have a remarkable rate of success, in game 2 in particular Cassell was probably 5 of 5 from ISOs and Drexler was probably nearly the same.

Those two were really un-stoppable on ISOs, they were great individually but they were greatly enhanced by Dream superb jump shot .

What are your thoughts ISO gurus??

Also is it just me or did the Rockets nearly play a zone in that series, I know they had Shaq and we doubled and had to rotate a LOT, but it really is a thin line between sagging in to the keyway to be ready to help on Shaq and not guarding your player but an area. The rockets got called for illegal D a lot but they got away with a lot more.

The other thing i really love about the series is the way we ran the ball. From rebounds it wasn't a hand off to Cassell or Kenny by the rebounder but a pass to them or one the other guards at the half way line and then we were off to the races with sooo many 3 on 2 s.

Just an amazing reminder (which seems relevent now) that passing gets the ball up the floor so much quicker than dribbling.

Good grief. just because people talk about ISOs to figure out what Rudy is doing...

oh nevermind...let me join the ISO sucks bandwagon. It is much easier.

ISOs are a crutch for teams that don't have five players who can shoot, dribble and pass. Witness Golden State and Larry Hughes. Hell, why not say Gary Payton's low post ISO is a crutch cause Seattle sux through history. How about Detroit? Finley's ISO never got Dallas into the playoffs. Toronto Sux with their Vincesanity ISO. What about why the Knicks can't live up to their super skills? Pat Riley lives and dies on the ISO. What about Portland who ISOs the superstars through entire 4th quarters, then lets Pippen fumble it away?

ISOs suck. But, I'll give them to a 6th man off the bench in a heartbeat. Rudy sucks if the ISOs continue at a high rate beyond giving them to Mobley. We have 5 players who can shoot, pass and dribble...Hell, Dream sucks because he can't pass, thus forcing us to clear him out or run ISOs to him.

    I hate ISOs.

But I hate pointless motion, too. I hate the "ISOs suck" posts, when the solution is to run Shandon ISOs in the low post. I hate the "ISOs suck" posts, when the solution is to run a Utah offense that took 4 years to create, and the best PF ever. I hate the "ISOs suck" posts, when the solution is to ISO Dream to establish the low post. I hate the "ISOs suck" posts, when the solution is to wave a magic wand and run Kidd's motion that took 4 years to create.

I hate ISOs. Rudy sucks if he isn't trying to limit the ISOs. They are a transitional crutch.

No more ISO talk for me...nuff said.

Oh...and I hate fantasy-heads who have Stackhouse on their team because they know he will jack it up for stat's sake, but bash Rudy for letting Mobley score big 4th Q points because Francis is the PG on their fantasy team.

I know there are Mobley bashers out there because they have Francis as their fantasy PG and want him taking ALL the 4th Q shots.

    yeah...that's right!!!!

I like isos when they work, but I like hasty isos - not 5-4-3-2-1-oh **** the shot clocks running out isos, or, the Awwww now Rudys pissed iso.

I like isos when they are givin' to us by the opponents defensive sets - we must make em' pay.
