Is Howard going to stay with the abusive b**** he's been with for a while or is he going to leave her for the hot young poon? That is what this is in a nutshell.

Well, if Howard stays and the Lakers somehow claw their way into the playoffs, then he would be lauded a hero. If not, the Lakers can also attract free agents next year. I guess Howard doesn't want to be called a quitter, and Nash/Kobe is banking on that angle.

Hah, it's tough to increase your brand when you miss the playoffs like the Lakers will next year regardless if they get Dwight
Can i please urge to withhold opinions from this thread? I started it for strict Dwight "news, rumors, etc.." I respect your opinion, but Id rather it be on another thread. Thank you.
Sorry if already asked, everyone is reporting the Lakers are offering Dwight $30M more than Rox, but how much actually is it after California state income tax? ...and does Dan Feagan even care? Didn't he taint the ending of Dream's Rox legacy for a lousy $2M?

"Come join us at the Alamo, Dwight, it will be a blast. The ending is going to be great!" Dwight doesn't have to 'make up for' 2012-13. He came back early from surgery, played with a bad back, played with a bad shoulder and was torn to shreds and called out by his team, the media and the fans. Clippers will rule the LA roost next season, barring injuries to them. Kobe won't be near 100%. It's not a bad pitch by the trio, but I'm not sure what kind of resonance it will have. I guess the Lakers have to sell what's available to them. So after The Flop of 2012-13, sounds like The Comeback is the pitch for 2013-14. Ok...
maybe cyberx can chime in on this but I know Happy Walters+Dan Fegan teamed up recently, but its not usual i think for agents to share clients once they team up. find it odd that both Walters+Fegan are at these meetings.
If he stays with the Lakers, he is in danger of destroying his brand, because the Lakers are currently in the shadow of the Clippers. Given the Lakers success over the years, you don't want to be on the team in the "down" times. That's not the brand you want to build. Not what you want associated with you. Kobe went nuts to get into the playoffs last year, I think, because he didn't want to have two seasons of missing the playoffs as a Laker. For any serious Lakers legend, missing one playoffs is bad. It's nice to be part of the Titanic. Before it hits the iceberg. Once you see the iceberg coming, though, it's time to distance yourself from the ship.
