The South American market to the Spurs is what China is to the Rockets. Gotta keep the SOFs happy.

4 years 36 mil. Fair market value for NBA big man.

    Definitely should make a push:
    Marreese Speights
    jj hickson
    Carl Landry

servicable and probably much cheaper than 6mil:
    Zaza Pachulia
    Tyler Hansbrough
    lamar odom
    Andray Blatche

Good news for the Omer Asik trade market. He's younger and more productive already.

I get that they're willing to pay to keep their core team intact but, 9 Mil per season for Splitter is reaching. It's not like the Spurs couldn't have attracted better talent for the price to their team that would have bought into Pop's system. Heck, they were running Diaw as their starting C a good chunk of the time with good results prior to his injury. Hopefully for them, the 4th year's a team option.

well this is good news for Pek, cause if Splitter gets this much, then Pek is gonna get paid, and this could IMO increase the value of Asik if guys like Splitter are getting paid like this

    Asik >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Splitter

With 7.5% annual increases it would a bit over 8M in the first year.

Remember Morey gave Dalembert a 7M/yr deal.

It'll be a flat deal, or even a decreasing deal, that's how the Spurs work.

Duncun better continue to show him all he knows or that is wasted money. I wonder how much Manu will agree to?

at the time dalembert was a good starting center. as a starter he avg'd 8/8/1.5, 55%fg and almost 70% at the line. that wasnt a bad deal

7-9mil for tiago is a bit too much. but its still possible he gets better

At the time Dalembert hadn't been a good starting C in several years.

he got those numbers in 20mpg. if mchale wasnt so in love with small ball he would've been a double double machine with 2 blocks.

anyway he was better than tiago, and he is a 7footer who can defend and rebound. those are always gonna be expensive. we got him on his very last legs as a starter

Asik's blocks came down because he used to get a lot of fouls doing them in Chicago.

The spurs really see something in Splitter that I'm missing. He is a nice player, but this is overpaying him. Maybe they expect him to make a jump next year, but i do not see it.
