I doubt the crow tastes any different than when Shandon Anderson had his 30+ point game with the Rockets.

Until Poser proves it was more than an occasional fluke then SageHare6 is right for adding the R and removing the Y.

Do you want to compare games where Poser was dominated on both ends of the court as opposed to games like he had against the Bulls? I don't think you want to take on that challange.

    I didn't know Shandon scored 30pts total in his Rocket's career. :D

All I was saying is to give the guy some respect, he is not as bad as you say. He can be a big role player for the team. I know he won't get over 10pts on most nights, but he does the little things.

I'll take the challenge, you gotta pull the stats though. Show me how bad he has been beaten on both ends of the court... Realize that he hasn't even been on the team a half season, it takes time to fit into a new system.

When you say Poser, you really sound like one, not Posey.

Well Posey has averaged 13 points the last two games. :)

    And 3 steals. :)

    He's too inconsistent.

But we don't need him when Rice is on fire.

But Rice won't be on fire for long.....

And Posey will need to step up and play good and "smart" basketball.

But in the offseason, I don't know. There aren't any hints or anything about whether the Rockets are gonna resign him or let him go. I think they may resign him. UNLESS THEY GET LAMAR ODOM!!!

He's someone the Rockets should shop around with in the offseason.

The KT-Posey trade will be measured by whether or not the Rocks make the play-offs. The deal was done to push them over the top...time will tell shortly.

I really like Posey's demeanor. I have never ever seen Kenny Thomas clap, support his teammates, or even smile on the sidelines. He just has a sulky expression, kind of evil. James really supports Glen - his sub - and goes crazy on the bench when he makes a play.

James Posey is the type of player I would want on my championship team. He hustles his ass off, and has taken at least 50 charges since he joined this team. He gives good interviews, is a very cheery dude, and he supports his teammates. I'm very glad this team got James Posey. Very.

See how easy it is to forget the few really good promising games Shandon had because of all of the bad games? When Posey is gone people will be saying the same thing about him, “I didn’t know he ever scored 30pts in his Rockets career.”

    No.

    Yes he is.

On a team of errors maybe.

Sure like pass the ball to the wrong team, pick up quick fouls early in the game and foul last second shots that don’t have a prayer to go in with the game on the line.

    Ok you asked for it.

    Dec 23 vs Utah
Matt Harpring 25 points including the game winner
James Posey 6 points and 3 fouls in 16 minutes

    Jan 21 vs. Dallas
Michael Finely 19 points hitting 50% of his shots
James Posey scores 7 points going 1 for 6 from the field

Here’s where it starts getting really bad:

    Feb 2nd vs. Sac
    P. Stojakovic scored 31 points on 11 of 16 shooting
Posey scores 5 points on 1 for 5 shooting

    Feb 4th
    Sczcerbiak 16 points
    Posey 9 points

    Feb 11th
    Harpring 24 points
    Posey 2 points 1 of 6 shooting

    Feb 14th vs Miami
Butler 24 points on 50% shooting
    Posey 6 points 2 of 10 shooting

    Feb 18th vs. Lakers
Rick Fox 15 points on 60% shooting
Posey 2 points on 1 of 5 shooting

    Feb 19th vs. Suns
    Shawn Marion 24 points
Posey 9 points on 2 of 11 shooting

    Feb 27th vs. Washington
    Jordan 35 points
Posey 4 points on 1 of 8 shooting with 5 fouls.

    March 4th vs. Detroit
Curry 10 points on 4 of 5 shooting
Posey 4 points on 1 of 4 shooting

    March 8th vs. New Jersey
    Jefferson 10 points
Posey 4 points on 2 of 7 shooting

    March 12th vs. LAC
    Odom 17 points
Posey 4 points on 1 of 4 shooting and a critical last second needless foul that almost cost us the game.

    March 16th vs. Phoenix
    Marion 14 points
Posey 0 points and 2 quick fouls that had him on the bench for most of the 1st half.

There were other games where Posey stunk it up as well like the March 2nd vs. S.A. where Bowen scored 5 points and Posey 2 points but I did not include them. Posey played fairly well when the Rockets first inserted him into the starting lineup but that did not last long.

Like you said remember he has only been with us for about a half of a season. That is an awful lot of bad games for just a half of a season. Kind of pathetic really.

I’m not the one posing as a NBA defensive stopper. When your stopper does not stop anyone and cant contribute on the offensive end then who is the poser?

I hope James Posey will contribute both offensively and defensively for the remainder of the regular season. He's playing better off lately.

    Fast breaks= easy baskets.
    Slashing= easy baskets.

No doubt about it, he helps create easy, high percentage shots. Who else on our team does those thigns?

Smart and savvy play? Well, notice that he is the one feeding the ball to Yao? How long will it take Cuttino Mobley or Steve Francis to learn how to make a proper entry pass? Notice that he knows how to play in the passing lanes and cause havoc? How many charges has he taken?

Now that the team trusts him enough to pass the ball to him, he's gonna be more consistent and have better games.

If we don't re-sign him, then say goodbye to our fastbreak!

Posey....if he can shoot that well.....and find a consistent stroke which always goes in....he would fit perfectly!! I hope he can improve over the summer. That would make him an excellent role player for us!

Haha, god, I hate it when people say meaningless crap like that... no offense... ;)

But really, I mean who the hell wouldn't "fit in perfectly" if they shot well, or especially if they found a "stroke which always goes in"!?!?!?

Guy scares the hell out of me. He has had a handfull of very good games. He also has looked sullen and lazy at times. He has not shown himself to be a shut down defense guy. Look at the recent road trip. All the 3's had big games against him. Lots of athleticism though. Lots of attitude, sometimes bad. He looks as much like a Cato as a Bowen. We could probably do better unless he is willing to take a reasonable contract. 2-3 years at 3-4 mil until we see how Boki pans out and also to give himself a chance to prove he can develop into a top 3. This team deserves no less.

Posey's stats in the last 2 months. Can his shooting be any more inconsistent?

Looks to me he had a good March--rather consistent. Shooting above 50% from the field and mid-high 30s on 3s versus low 30s from the field and 3s on Feb. Even great players have occasional off nights. To me these are encouraging numbers.

If his numbers were at least offsetting the opposing 3 it would be encouraging. His rep is a defensive specialist, Yes?. If he's that and keeping the other 3 down then his O numbers are not hurting us. He is getting lit up almost every game. Lots of energy. Not good results!
