i believe DM the wizard has an under the radar back up plan if DH pursuit went nowhere...i think that is thru trade.
If we don't get Dwight, I hope we upgrade the power forward position through free agency. Maybe a Paul Milsap or Gasol if he gets amnestied. Keep core together and hope they grow
I would be down for a trade for LMA and picking up another center....maybe a trade for Cousins or a contract to Bynum w/ options and little guaranteed money. Or even Cousins and Jsmith would be a pretty good team. It would command less than D12 and we'd be able to sign a good backup SG and have room to sign CP when his contract is up...

I heard this yesterday when referring to the Rockets for the first time on PTI although it is a rumor that has been going around the league for a few weeks now. I think we should trade for Demarcus Cousins and offer him a max contract. Unlike Bynum and Oden health is not as big of an issue with Cousins. Of course his attitude cn be a big problem but I'd rather have that risk than a guy that cannot play. Also as a bonus we will still have cap space to spend to either get other players or make better trades say for a Josh Simth.
Asik and any pf they want for DMC sign Josh smith sign a back up 2 and 3 thats the best back up plan we can go for. Standing pat will be disappointing and wasting all our cap-space on anyone but dwight with the same team isn't really going to help up in the long run. At least with DMC we have another future all star if he can get his head together.
I'm a fan of standing pat and picking up some back up 2/3 shooters. I'm a fan of DMo and T Jones. I think both develop and man the 4 postion for years. If you don't see improvement from them next year, you go after LMA or Love or maybe Cousins.
This. I doubt we'll be the WC champs, much less the NBA champs, even if we sign Gasol or Smith, or whoever. We'll be competitive, sure, but it's not worth using cap space for a temporary solution. The majority of people won't like standing pat, but I think that's what we should do. 2014 is going to be a ridiculous year, both in FA and in drafting.

S&T Millsap for Lin. Sign a FA PG to replace Lin. That will still keep our salary low for next year and improve the 4 spot. Utah gets a PG to replace the ones that are bolting. And best of all...all the LOFs go over to the Jazz board...
Without either DH or LBJ, then most likely we aren't winning a title anytime soon. It's all in for Dwight or sign guys that will enable us to win 50 -55 games, but no ring. That's what Les decided years ago.
sign 2 of JJ Redick, tony allen, Corey Brewer, Dorrell Wright, or garcia back. Whichever ones we can without lowering our chances to sign big deals next year. Pick up Gasol. Lin/Bev Harden/ JJ- Allen-Brewer Parsons/ Garcia-Dorrell Wright Gasol/Jones/Moti Asik/Smith/Moti Signing Millsap could be a good option if the price is right (8-10 mill).
