Well it's certainly looking good for us it seems: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Following encouraging meeting with Dwight Howard, Rockets will look not to fall-back position free agents, but to pieces to go with him.</p>— Jonathan Feigen (@Jonathan_Feigen) <a href="https://twitter.com/Jonathan_Feigen/statuses/351613994307559424">July 1, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
(Fort those that are too tired to click extra curricular links) "The Houston Rockets have finally landed the superstar they have been coveting for so long. The Rockets shed the salaries of Carlos Delfino and Aaron Brooks to save $5.5 million, and enough to sign the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year. Superstar center Dwight Howard will be signing with the Houston Rockets, according to IBN sources. The deal for the seven-time All Star is done, and Howard will be patrolling the middle with a bevy of great shooters (doesn’t this sound familiar). Howard took the Orlando Magic to the NBA Finals in 2009, and will have a great chance to assist a dangerous Rocket team to the that level. Howard will be joining a team who finsihed with the same record as the Lakers in 2013 at 45-37. Howard spent last season in Los Angeles, and things just never seemed to go right. Howard averaged 17.1 points and 12.4 rebounds last season, which were his lowest totals since 2007. Between coming off back surgery, meshing with new teammates (you know who I'm talking about) and playing in a new system were too much for Howard to produce like in past seasons. A fresh start, with a young nucleus in Houston is just what Howard has been seeking since being traded from Orlando before last season. Howard will be teaming up with superstar James Harden to form a lethal inside-outside combo, if not the best. Howard's new teammates will be able to benefit from the attention the 27-year-old big man commands from opposing defenses, which should lead to a lot of open 3-point shots. When considering the Rockets led the league in 3-point baskets last season with 11.7 per game, the addition of Howard will make the lives of Harden, Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons much easier next season."
Rockets' next LA meetings will be with Corey Brewer and Mike Dunleavy, accordng to a person with knowledge of the plans.-Feigen
I'll sleep. Then wake up. Hopefully, I'll see in the front page of ESPN that Howard signed with us. Then, I'll believe the story and rep the op. ;p
If he has already signed, there is no way in Hell, if I'm Les or Morey, that I'd let him entertain other teams. Chris Paul's reps told other teams to not even consider making offers. I would ask for the same.
Misleading article title. It says "SIGNS WITH HOUSTON". (It does say "WILL BE SIGNING with Houston" later.) BUT no one can actually SIGN until July 10th. All they can do now is AGREE TO WANT TO SIGN.
