I would think Asik alone is worth more than Chuck Hayes and IT.

cannan is 2 to 3 years away from a big role.No one is counting on him to be a major role player nnext season. What were excited about is Sergio Lull who is a defensive bull.

Someone explain why we can't keep Lin? More than capable, young talent, who has shown glimpses of greatness. Runs the pick and roll very effectively with big men with good hands and hopes (i.e. Tyson Chandler). Contract is also reasonable as well.

The new CBA, I guess. If you can get a solid PG for cheaper, then you have more cap space to fill in some pieces for Dwight and for the bench.

Josh Smith and Dwight sound like a horrible fit to me, but what do I know.

Would you rather have Josh Smith with Lin staying, or get Rondo but lose both Asik and Lin?

Definitely. But I'm presuming that we're seeing Lin's name here in trade rumors because the Rockets don't feel he's part of the 'core' going forward with D12, and that his contract is not so overly appealing for other teams to use cap space on.

So you use Asik to sweeten the deal and get the 3 things you need after dealing Lin/Asik - Starting PG replacement with better shooting #'s, backup C replacement, and cap space to sign Josh Smith.

yo rather have asik and Linn over Rondo?. Go make a poll and see the results. most intelligent people will choose Rondo. As would all gm's. lof's are delusional.

aren't the Rockets playing a preseason game in Taiwan next year?

If he's not on the Rockets, they could tell the fans there that somebody kidnapped him like in the Hangover

Not sure they know Hangover in Taiwan plus that would be disrespectful.

Taiwan fans probably hope that Lin stays in Houston for the next two years so they can continue to have fun trolling ABJs / Lin haters.

Sign another Chinese/Taiwanese player to the D - League. They'll be fine.

It wouldn't be for skill set, it would be for cap room, same with Asik.

Well one thing I haven't been doing in the last 10 years is posting as much as you. 32,000+ posts??? Dayum I hope you are getting paid for this b/c that's impressive. But thanks Guru for the advice. I will meditate on it and see if I can bring my Ying and Yang into perfect harmony. :)

As for using "everyone"- I apologize for generalizing. I should have said plenty of people. That being said, I agree completely with you. I want the Rockets to win. And if we can get a superior PG by trading Lin, then I'm all for it. But if we do land Howard (and even more so if we land Smith too), we don't need another high scoring PG. We need a PG with a good head on his shoulders who will defer to the rest of the team. We need a guy who's good at penetrating and dishing off. And we need a guy who shoots a good percentage from the field and from the 3 pt line- all of which J Lin did based on his post All-Star stats.

So unless CP3 is coming to town, which he isn't, I really don't see what other PG's are out there that would be a better fit for us with this team.

wow, Daryl is still doing his thing! trading assets to get better players

in the past, it was with mostly middling players, now with Lin and Asik. he's waited so long to build a championship contender, he's not gonna let anyone stand in the way.

and true, Asik's value is probably sky-high after last season. Daryl has learned from the past about holding on to players too long. He's sure being aggressive.

July 10th can't get here soon enough.

I'm not that impressed with his stats offensively. Low percentages for a 4 (especially at the FT line) and also turns it over a lot.

If DH comes here i think Lin will stay. Reason being is because by that time Morey will be even more in a position to call the shots.
