Reke needs the ball in his hands to be effective. When it's all said and done, the ball is either going to be in Harden's hands at the top of the key, or in Dwight's hands on the block.

Tyreke being on this team would diminish the effectiveness of both Harden and Howard.

He can be a good player. Just not with us / in our current offense.

I'd rather have LMA, if we're strictly talking offense. Defense, Smoove all day.

    Overall, LMA.

Yeah, I hear ya, but LMA isn't Dwight's best friend.

Trouble is salaries of Lin + Asik can't buy you a superstar. A DH type star is all the Rox can afford, especially when Chandler will be commanding big time pay real soon. If Howard comes, Lin or/and Asik days are numbered. At least one of them has to go to clear some cap room so they can fill the decent roster. They most likely will bring back Delfino and may be Brooks/Garcia too plus some vets. Bev is NOT better than Lin, but he is cheap and plays intense defense. He only have to bring the ball up and let JH and DH do their things and play D. Canaan obvious was drafted for a good reason. But if they can flip Lin for a decent PG for 3 mil or so, even a late 1st round pick, Morey will do it in a heart beat.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. I think part of their pitch is marketing connections in Asia (aren't they jeopardising that if Lin is dumped?). And Asik is also part of their pitch as another big body down low to do the dirty work. I suppose they can also pitch Dwight on the flexibility to move those pieces to bring in Dwight's friends like Josh Smith or Monta Ellis.

Obviously they needed to shop them around early. I don't think they wanted it to get out. Probably the teams they were shopping them to wanted to leak it for their own reasons.

When all is said and done. Most likely both Asik and Lin will remain Rockets. I believe the management prefers continuity and keeping the team chemistry they built up unless a trade like CP3 comes along that they can't pass up.

If Atlanta wants to S&T Smoove for Asik wee would need to find a taker for Lin and take virtually no salary back. Would smoove take 16 mil to play next to Dwight on a contender? I think so. Plus I'm liking the idea of moving Lin for picks.

Bev, Harden, Parsons, Smoove, Dwight? That's a stout defensive team.

Get 16 mil back by letting Lin and Asik go and give it all to Josh Smith? Where's the $ to fill a decent bench? Can't win with no bench.

I hope he does get traded to a team that will let him run the show. If it's Detroit, I hope they get Jsmith and we can actually watch him play some ball. With that, I would be the first to laugh my ass off if this whole thing blows up in Houston's face...couldn't happen to a more appropriate team and HC.

No one is trading for Lin, that's virtually guaranteed. I knew Asik would be the one gone because it's the only way to create a more rounded playing rotation but he's a desired asset and Lin is not. I was still wishing hard that Asik could be kept instead :( :( :(

Shaun Powell is a bit more legit than previous source. This is exciting.

Lin brings in too much revenue from Asia. No way Les gets rid of that cash cow.
