Of course there was a valid coalition then, and 80% of the ground troops were European and not U.S.

The key components in this coalition differ only in that France and Germany are out but Eastern Europe is in.

Neither war had the backing of the UN. I do not see how the NATO backing last time would have made so much moral difference to produce the different responses from the left.

The Key components aren't the same. Other countries gave tangible support, both in terms of money and troops. This time only a few have given troops and money, others on board as far as supporting are there in name only, and moral support. There is s a huge difference if I say, 'I'm with you go right ahead and do it,' than if I say 'I'm with you, I'll join you, and give you money.'

Still how does this change the moral dimensions of the war from the last though?

Or are the protestors only protesting the logistics?

Some protestors would be supporters if there was UN support. That being because the resolutions broken were with the UN, and some are against Bush's handling or mishandling of the diplomacy part. The moral dimensions are changed by the amount of diplomacy attempted first. War as a last resort is a different thing.

Truthfully protestors have different reasons for protesting. But the circumstances behind the war are unique and different than other conflicts.
