Harden wont net nice pieces, in my understanding of this thread, we would be trading Harden to the Clippers for CP3 (I may be wrong)
I'm all for 'nice pieces' for Harden. It doesn't have to be a 1-for-1 deal...so long as we end up with Dwight and he's our starting Center on Opening Day.
Your logic assumes that it is Dwight or bust which it isn't. This team is very young and does not need to rush to get a superstar. However, to answer your question, I'd consider it for a few players. If you can get Curry, Irving or CP3 for Harden and it is guaranteed that Howard comes it would be hard to say no. Only problem is that all 3 of those guys have had injury problems.
And Howard is guaranteed to come? So basically LMA, Matthews and Howard for Harden? I'd probably say yes to that if I'm Morey and I have nothing else amazing lined up. But I'd also have to look at who else we are giving up and what we get because we wouldn't have enough to sign Howard if we take on the $20MM plus owed to Matthews/LMA.
I realize there's a lot of 'what ifs' with that proposal....maybe we throw in Asik. Who knows? But yes, this all hinges on getting Howard to say Yes. But since we aren't getting a stud PG in that deal, Howard still would scoff at us. If it was Lillard and LMA, I'd do it yesterday. I'd have to have some assurance that Howard would play with 7 assists per game from his young PG.
Does anyone remember how hard it was to get a star? Then we get one and he gets garbage like this about him. smh
No, should we land on the sun? That's how stupid your idea is and why no one is bothering to explain.
CP3 has a few more years in him, and Rose is an iffy choice at the moment. I would consider letting harden go if we somehow acquired Irving and Beal two ridiculously young players that could bounce off one another greatly, and trade Lin for a somewhat good big man. Keeping only parsons and robinson as the last two rockets starters standing.
